Sony VAIO VGC-RB38G

This is a good, moderately priced Media Center with TV/DVR recording that will record TV, surf the Net, and perform other multimedia tasks well.

Flat front with doors covers drives and media card slots. Approaches the sweet spot in computer prices. Plenty of drive-bay expansion space.

Tower form factor suits home office more than home theater. Fan-cooling makes it noisier than the liquid-cooled RA series. Wired keyboard and mouse. Price doesn't include monitor. Fewer video-output options than the RA series.
