ZBOX-AD02-PLUS - Media PC

. Powered by an AMD E-350 Zacate APU, this compact device promises smooth 1080p video playback and competent day-to-day performance on productivity tasks. Let's see how well this little box stacks up

On the back, we get shots of the front and rear of the unit, pointing out all the ports and indicators. The note "actual size" is no exaggeration, this unit really is tiny

Zotac ZBOX HD-AD02 Plus All-in-One PC Review

All-in-One PC's have been getting quite popular over the past few years. When Intel released the Atom processor we really saw All-in-One PC's become affordable.

– Small form factor ; – VESA mount included ; – Great performance ; – HDMI and Optical out ; – 6 total USB ports

– None that I found

Zotac has really put together a good all-in-one system with the ZBOX HD-AD02 plus. All you really need to purchase after getting the system is the operating system and possibly a USB CD-ROM drive. The unit is nice and compact and can fit pretty much...

Zotac ZBOX AD02-Plus-U

Small design with fantastic Performance, Plays Blu-Ray, Netflix, and YouTube videos at 1080p flawlessly, Has gaming potential at minimum-to-average settings on older games, Plenty of ports: 4 USB 2.0, 2 USB 3.0, eSATA, Wireless-N ready, Excellent built...

CPU usage during video playback is higher than ION2, Lacks optical drives, Weak performance in heavy threaded application, No HTPC remote included

AMD’s Zacate E-350 APU is a rather nice upgrade from the Intel Atom. The E-350 is a faster CPU than the Intel Atom D510, especially in lightly threaded application. The GPU on the Zacate platform, the HD 6310, is also powerful enough for most simple...

Video Preview and Unboxing – ZOTAC ZBOX AD02 Plus AMD Fusion E-350 Mini-PC

We took the afternoon off to go hang with Tuan from ZOTAC who recently received their brand new ZOTAC ZBOX AD02 Plus Mini-PC. While it looks similar to the early ...

The ZBOX ADO2s and ADO3s ship without operating system allowing you to decided which flavour of Windows 7 to go with. They are also very popular among system integrators. And with pricing starting at just $249 US for the barebones AD02, just add RAM...

Love it

Love it, I threw 2 more gigabytes of RAM in it and an SSD and this thing handles whatever I throw at it. I've had Windows 7 on it and it ran great, I had Linux on it and it ran great and for about a year or so I've had OpenELEC on it. I'm actually...

I upgraded the BIOS on it to fix an issue with it not waking up from sleep, but it ended up bricking the device. I followed the correct procedure to upgrade the BIOS and after it ran the check it said everything was ok. I rebooted it and it bricked...

XP installation

As an I.T Manager for the past 7 years I have never had this issue. I did try OEM xp pro, xp pro corp & xp pro corp sp3 disks. Was not my Drive or roms. XP Pro OEM is installed now by port swaping USB locations.

It's a Zbox, I use lot's of them and have yet to have any of the models I use Die / or have issues

USB CD/DVD Drive. I found while installing XP pro you could only use the two rear center USB slot's BETWEEN VIDEO AND NIC. Front and Top usb slot you would get BSOD every time. Once Xp started to install and want to reboot you have to switch usb in...

Does not work with Openelec

Ordered one of these 6 months ago and everyhting worked great with Openelec but they must have changed the network card because the new one never gets an ip address

Could not get Any version of Openelec to see the network card. It never got an address from my DHCP Server. Had to use XBMCbuntu for network card to work

Great HTPC box

Love that this is pretty straightforward to set up and go. After grabbing the Openelec Fusion build and installing on this little gem, it booted right into XBMC, found my external HD sources and was able to play media content from it in about 20...

Not any that is worth noting

Good Stuff

The system ships with 2GB of memory on 1-2GB SO-DIMM. I ordered another 2GB stick and now it has 4GB. Very nice. I could have replaced it with 2-4GB SO-DIMMs for 8GB, but it would have been overkill for my application.

The price for a system with 2GB memory and 250GB HDD was too good to pass up. The memory is all on one memory stick, so adding another 2GB was a breeze, and I didn't have to pitch a pair of 1GB memory modules. I will initially use this for a remote...

Doc Blows. I wish there was better documentation for setting the BIOS. It would have saved much time setting it up

Amazing...

It's amazing how much computing power this puny thing has. Having built an ATX monster a couple of years ago, I was humbled by capability of a mini-ITX. This should be the future. Kudos to AMD for their Zacate APU and kudos to Zotac for a beautifully...
