Canon PowerShot Elph 320 HS

The Canon PowerShot Elph 320 HS is a small shooter with a large touch-screen LCD and Wi-Fi. Its lens is sharp, but only covers a 5x zoom range, and the practicality of the touch screen is questionable.

Compact, attractive design. Sharp lens. Integrated Wi-Fi. Good high ISO performance.

Touch screen is difficult to use. No physical controls. Short zoom range. 1080p video limited to 24fps.

Performance and Conclusions The 320 HS can start and grab a shot in about 2.2 seconds, makes you wait 0.6 second between photos, and records a 0.2-second shutter lag. This is fairly par for the course for a compact point-and-shoot. The Panasonic Lumix...

Canon PowerShot Digital Elph review

Canon PowerShot Digital Elph

Chic and ultracompact; earned high marks for both performance and image quality.

No optical zoom; no optical viewfinder; pricey for its class.

Style and simplicity are this camera's strong suits, but competing models offer more features for the money.

Canon PowerShot ELPH 320 HS Preview

Canon's ELPH series has a new sub-$300 model packed with features, new technology, and blazing speed. While the star of the show, optically speaking, is the 16.1 megapixel high-sensitivity CMOS image sensor paired with a DIGIC 5 image processor and a...

The Canon IXUS 240 HS is an unassuming yet technologically advanced compact camera that hides a lot of features under its typically IXUS-like rectangular exterior. The touchscreen interface isn't the best that we've ever used, but the new wi-fi...

Canon PowerShot 320 HS Review

Canon PowerShot ELPH 320 HS

The Canon PowerShot Elph 320 HS is a tiny point-and-shoot camera that uses a large touch screen display and built-in Wi-Fi to set itself apart from the crowded pack. The 16-megapixel Elph 320 HS has a sharp lens and does well in low light, but a lack...

Canon IXUS 240 HS review

Pocket-sized compact camera with Wi-Fi and touchscreen controls

Styling ; Effects ; Fast shutter response ; Great in low light

Confusing menu system ; Unresponsive touchscreen ; Poorly implemented Wi-Fi

With its 16.1MP backlit CMOS sensor and built-in Wi-Fi capability, the Canon IXUS 240 HS - known as the Canon PowerShot ELPH 320 HS in the US - is just the kind of camera you might see poking out of a shirt pocket on a Côte d'Azur beach.

Canon IXUS 240 HS

We wouldn't complain if the 240HS (or its successor) had a longer zoom lens or was able to capture HD video at a higher frame rate, but the Canon IXUS 240HS proves that quality can easily overcome quantity.

Excellent image quality. Resistive touchscreen as good as they get.

Low HD video frame rate. Interface has a few quirks. More zoom would be nice.
