Canon PowerShot A430

There's no reason to spend hundreds on a digital point-and-shoot when the Canon PowerShot A430 does the job for less than $200.

Very good picture quality. Solid performance. No shutter lag.

Poor video quality. Mediocre recycle time.

Canon PowerShot A430 review

Canon PowerShot A430

Solid features and performance; inexpensive; decent optical viewfinder for a point-and-shoot.

Disappointing photo quality; tiny screen.

The Canon PowerShot A430 is a decent, dirt-cheap camera with nice features, but the photos could look better.

Canon Powershot A430

For a very low entry fee, the Canon PowerShot A430 lets novice users enjoy the benefits of Canon imaging technology. The A430 has a surprisingly solid build, with image quality to match. The 4.0-megapixel CCD captures excellent images, able to make...

Canon PowerShot A430 Digital Camera Review

Though it doesn't have the manual control that some of the other A-series cameras boast, there are 14 exposure modes to get creative with, as well as Stitch-Assist mode for capturing panoramas, a Movie mode, and a Continuous mode for capturing up to...

Canon PowerShot A430

Another entry-level camera of interest is the Canon PowerShot A430 which has 4 megapixels, 4x optical zoom, a 1.8 inch LCD and simple operation. Ready for more about this entry-level camera which has more zoom power than anyone else? Very well, let's go.

4x zoom lens; more telephoto power ; Good battery life ; Good LCD visibility ; Unlimited, fast continuous shooting ; Fast performance ; Great 1 cm macro mode with optional digital zoom ; Very good image quality with low noise until ISO 200; extremely...

Small, low resolution LCD ; Weaker flash; red-eye ; Autofocus could be faster; AF is lagging behind competition ; Lame" movie mode in 2006; VGA at a choppy 10 FPS, limited to 1 GB

The affordable Canon PowerShot A430 is the successor to last year's A410. Featuring 4 megapixels, a bigger 4x zoom lens, 1.8 inch LCD and great performance, this camera is a competitive one.

Canon PowerShot A430 Digital 4-Megapixel Camera Review

I liked the last year's 3.2-Megapixel Canon PowerShot A410 and decided to get an updated version - 4-Megapixel Canon PowerShot A430. I bought my A430 for $144. The prices went down since then and you can get an A430 for less than $135. Can you get good...

I highly recommend the Canon PowerShot A430 if you need an inexpensive yet capable compact camera that produces very good photos with print sizes of up 8x10 inches, has 4x optical zoom and uses two AA batteries. It is easy to use. But if you need more...

Canon PowerShot A430

A fuss free, easy to use option that takes sharp colourful images, the Canon PowerShot A430 offers excellent value for the beginner - or the smallest member of the family.

Large buttons, easy to use operation, excellent value

Plastic build, 1.8-inch screen is small and underwhelming by today's standards
