Canon PowerShot D10 review

For the longest while, your options were highly limited in the waterproof / rugged point-and-shoot arena. In fact, it was arguably better to just buy a standard P&S camera and a waterproof casing for said camera than to worry over any of the standalone...

Incredibly rugged ; Decent image quality ; 3x zoom on a waterproof camera

Bulky ; Lackluster video results ; Low-light performance is underwhelming

Canon PowerShot D10

The PowerShot D10 is waterproof, freeze-proof, and shock-proof, and it pumps out great-looking images, but if you're looking for a slim camera, this isn't it.

Fast performance. Top-notch image quality at most lens positions. LCD provides excellent contrast. Waterproof to 33 feet. Freeze-proof to 14 degrees Fahrenheit. Drop-proof up to 4 feet.

Twice as thick as most competing rugged cameras. Protective window shields lens from water and damage, but not fingerprints. No HD-video capture.

Canon PowerShot D10 review: Canon PowerShot D10

Canon PowerShot D10

Excellent photo quality; comfortable to use in water or with gloves.

Poor design for an everyday camera, expensive for an occasional camera; kind of ugly; mixed performance.

It might not look quite right, but the PowerShot D10 is a solid entry into rugged cameras for Canon.

Canon PowerShot SD10 Digital Elph

As much a fashion statement as it is the smallest camera in our roundup, the slim, elegant Canon PowerShot SD10 Digital Elph delivers good image quality and a fast burst mode.

Summary: The SD10 is an attractive piece of jewelry with a solid feel, but it has no zoom lens and is only average in ease of use, performance, and image quality.

Canon PowerShot D10 Review

The Canon PowerShot D10 represents Canon's first foray into the all-action world of adventure cameras. The Canon D10 is waterproof up to 10 meters / 33-feet deep, freeze proof from -10°C / 14 degrees Fahrenheit, shockproof up to 1.22 meters / 4 feet,...

In many ways using the Canon PowerShot D10 is much like using any other Canon point-and-shoot compact. Ignore the rather obvious external design differences, and you'll find that the D10 offers the usual blend of intuitive handling, sensible design and...
