Canon PowerShot N2

The Canon PowerShot N2 improves upon its predecessor, but this pocket camera is still held back by a design that makes it downright awkward to use.

Sharp lens. Creative Shot mode. Titling touch-screen display. Wi-Fi and NFC.

Oddball design. 28mm wide-angle is limiting. Few physical controls. External charger not included. Weak flash.

Performance and Conclusions The N2 starts and shoots in about 1.4 seconds and requires just 0.1-second to lock focus and fire. Both are good results for a compact camera; the Nikon P340 is a little slower to start, requiring around 2 seconds to do so,...

Canon refines its quirky square pocket camera for the PowerShot N2

The Wi-Fi-enabled ultracompact gets the screen it should have had the first time around, not to me ntion other feature tweaks.

Canon PowerShot N2

Canon has announced a successor to the elegantly designed N. The new PowerShot N2 looks similar to its predecessor, as this camera's main feature is a general lack of external buttons in favor of a touchscreen approach. You still get a 2.8" titling...

Canon PowerShot N2 Review

Back in 2013 we were rather underwhelmed with the original PowerShot N, but Canon is back with a second generation that boasts improved specs and more features. The PowerSHot N2 retains the same distinctive square style and 8x optically stabilised zoom...

Given the original N was clearly a niche product and its style hasn’t been widely replicated, it’s perhaps surprising that Canon has followed it up with the N2. Clearly this is a camera aimed at fashion-conscious smartphone photographers who want...

Canon N2 Review

The Canon N2 is closely related to its predecessor, the PowerShot N, but features some significant and fun upgrades.

Available from December 2014, the Canon PowerShot N2 is priced at US$300, the same as the N. Two body color options will be available: white or black.

Canon refines its quirky square pocket camera for the PowerShot N2

With the PowerShot N2, Canon has turned its PowerShot N into the selfie camera it should have been in the first place.

The Canon PowerShot N2 shows up in December in a choice of black or white versions for about $300. Region-specific pricing was unavailable, but that $300 price translates to roughly £185 or AU$333 in the UK and Australia, respectively.

Canon PowerShot N2

Certainly the smallest PowerShot I have ever seen or used. Its small size means that certain features are in different places. It uses a micro SD card and the TFT display takes all of the rear of the unit, yes it is small, small pocket small.

So while the PowerShot range is still considered to be more advanced than the IXUS this is as small in volume as most IXUS offerings. However even someone using a lot of cameras will need to think here as while finding the on/off is easy as is...

Canon Powershot N2 Review

We review the new Canon Powershot N2 - a minimalist camera designed to be easy to use and connects to Wi-Fi for instant sharing.

Good image quality ; Decent performance at higher ISOs ; Unique design ; Built-in Wi-Fi and NFC ; Tilting touch screen

The zoom control and shutter release won't be to everyone's liking ; Expensive ; Poor battery life ; Small, but bright LED flash ; Doesn't like to focus on macro subjects ; No automatic panoramic mode

The Canon Powershot N2 looks good and produces decent images, but it's quite expensive. You can spend much less and get more zoom and Wi-Fi, such as the Canon IXUS 265 HS . Canon have sacrificed the traditional zoom and shutter release, reduced the...

Great little camera

I have had this camera for about a week now, and I've taken almost 100 photos. For my purposes, this is a super camera. For one thing, it's unique. I have collected a LOT of Canon point & shoot cameras over the years, and this one is on a par with the...
