Casio Exilim EX-Z700 review

main content Ultracompact cameras are everywhere. It seems as if nearly every camera manufacturer is cramming a 6-plus-megapixel CCD and an inexpensive lens into a tiny case and putting it on the shelves. Without exceptional quality or a unique...

Quick and responsive; solid build.

Heavy fringing; left edge of images are blurry; should not default to Quick Shot mode.

The Casio Exilim EX-Z700 is a solid ultracompact camera, but there are better choices out there.

Casio EXILIM ZOOM EX-Z700 Digital Camera - Express Review - The Imaging Resource!

For a pocket camera that sells for under $300, the Casio Exilim EX-Z700 has a lot going for it. Available in a choice of blue, silver, or gray, the Casio EX-Z700 is a slim camera with a light, but sturdy body made of polycarbonate with nice metal...

Attractive and functional compact design ; Speedy performance with virtually no shutter lag when you pre-focus ; Rapid Flash function helps take quick flash photos in succession ; New Auto Framing mode helps capture pictures of moving subjects ; Punchy...

Poor low-light capabilities ; Over aggressive anti-noise processing smooshes out detail at ISO 400 and 800 ; High ISO shots appear dark ; Low resolution LCD ; Softness in corners of pictures ; Tends to underexpose on bright days ; Onboard memory only...

As usual, Casio packs in the scene modes (which Casio dubs "Best Shot") on the EX-Z700, with a whopping 37 different shooting options. Along with the usual standard Sports, Portrait, and Fireworks modes, Casio adds two new interesting Best Shot...

Camera Review: Casio Exilim EX-Z700

When Casio hit the market with their Exilim line of digital cameras four years ago, they offered digital shooters cameras featuring a host user-friendly options in an extremely slim, compact design. As the years went on the cameras have gotten smaller,...

Casio Exilim Card EX-Z700 digital camera

Casio has a range of high tech and well-priced digital cameras of which the Z700 is one of the latest. The new all metal camera replaces the 6-megapixel Z600 and offers another million pixels, 7.2 (effective) megapixels to be precise. Once again, the...

Design and build, 37 automated snapping “Best Shot” modes

Close focus distance, barrel distortion at wide-angle end of lens, intrusive noise at all ISO settings, image quality

Once again, the watchwords here are “less is so much more”. Casio has a great little camera in the Z700 but one marred by having more pixels than it needs (given the market) on a sensor that’s just too small. Drop this to a 5-megapixel camera and the...

Casio Exilim EX-Z700

Easy to use, but still retains it's looks

A great-looking shooter that unfortunately lacks the added extras to make it a great performer. That said, it's a good choice for a fashion-conscious amateur

Casio Exilim EX-Z700

The Casio Exilim EX-Z700 main attraction is likely to be its ease of use. I find the menu system that Casio use to be one of the more straightforward. The camera has all the features I would expect this type of camera to possess.

Picture quality ; Overall ease of use ; Excellent LCD screen

Very small internal memory

The Casio Exilim EX-Z700 is a good solid digital camera. It is competitively priced and if you do not want to pay over the odds for a pocket sized camera then this model is well worth considering.
