At $500, Kodak's entry in the megapixel wars is easily the least-expensive 6.1-megapixel camera we've seen. It earned top-notch resolution scores in our lab tests for image quality. Unfortunately, it garnered mediocre scores for color and exposure...

Though the users' guide covers all the of camera's features in fewer than 60 pages, it looks like the cheapest paperback you can find on a supermarket shelf. The paper feels like newsprint and the booklet was already warped when we took it out of the...

Kodak EasyShare DX7630

The EasyShare DX7630 is a very comfortable, well-designed camera that anybody should enjoy. But we wish its resolution was better and the lens started at a wider angle.

Kodak EasyShare DX7630

Is this the best ultra high resolution camera for the person seeking an easy-to-use camera? Find out now

Very good, but noisy photos ; Well-designed body ; Many manual controls ; Support for conversion lenses ; Amazing AF system: fast and accurate, even in low light ; Large LCD, viewable in low light ; Good redeye test performance ; Incredibly easy-to-use...

Above average noise in images ; No manual focus or white balance ; Support for external flash would be nice (a la DX6490) ; Movie mode is outdated ; No histograms ; No PictBridge support

If you need the resolution, I do recommend this camera. The average person probably doesn't, though, so if you want something similar with fewer pixels (and a lower price), check out the EasyShare DX7440. It's 4 Megapixel and has a 4X zoom lens and has...

Kodak EASYSHARE DX7630 Zoom

If easy is desirable, then Kodak's 6.1 megapixel DX7630 compact camera delivers.

Easy to use, customisable music and sound themes

Mediocre automatic functions, no zoom, no manual white balance

This camera caters to both amateur and more experienced photographers, but has some minor problems.

Kodak EasyShare DX7630

Large, 2.2-inch LCD. High-quality prints.

Meagre 32MB internal memory (MMC expandable). Awkward controls.

An excellent camera and an ideal beginner's digital, with easy to use menus and excellent picture quality.
