Kodak EasyShare V1253 review

There's no shortage of 12-megapixel cameras on the market today. One of the slimmer and simpler competitors, the Kodak EasyShare V1253, not only maxes out the megapixels but stretches its LCD to a wide-screen 3.1 inches, as well. The V1253 keeps up...

The Kodak EasyShare V1253 has generally speedy performance; an attractive, compact package; a wide-screen 3.1 inch LCD; 720p movie capture; and it's easy to use.

Barrel distortion and vignetting at wide angle; only USB charging included; uses small, easily lost USB adapter.

Fast shooting and pleasing images in an easy-to-use design make the Kodak EasyShare V1253 an attractive--though not best-in-class--option.

Kodak EasyShare V1253

Kodak clearly understands the new breed of photographers who want to show off their handiwork on the big screen in their living rooms, and its EasyShare V1253 is a great digital camera for shooting photos and video to display on your HDTV.

Very large LCD (3.1 inches) ; Can capture 16-by-9 stills and video

Battery life a tad low ; Can be lethargic when storing images

You can shoot HD video on the V1253 and, with an optional HDTV docking station, display it on your television.

Kodak EasyShare V1253 12MP Digital Camera

Digital cameras are something I think everyone should have. They make it so easy to take photos and save them on your computer. There is so much you can do with digital photos that there is no reason to not have a digital camera, especially since they...

Kodak EasyShare V1253

While the megapixels continue to climb on digital still cameras, one area we haven't seen much movement is the video recording capabilities of these u...

Sharp pictures, great colour, wonderful design, HD video shooting

Extremely slow to recover from shots at times, some exposure problems

Kodak's V1253 takes great shots, is well designed and offers HD video recording; however, the speed to recover between shots can sometimes be in excess of five seconds, which really detracts from the user experience. Still if you aren't going to take...

Kodak EasyShare V1253 digital camera

Kodak's latest digital camera sports 12 megapixels, an HD logo and large screen, but is it enough to impress against offerings from the competition? We get snapping to find out. The Kodak EasyShare V1253 comes across as an average 12 megapixel camera...

Kodak EasyShare V1253

Right before its official release, we received the 12 megapixel Kodak V1253 ultra-compact digicam for review. If you've been a regular at Tech2.com, you've probably noticed that this particular series of digicam has not really received the best of...

Considering it has features such as HD video recording and perfect touch, and great overall image quality and build, I'd say it's worth it.

Kodak EasyShare V1253

Fast shooting and pleasing images in an easy-to-use design make the Kodak EasyShare V1253 an attractive -- though not best-in-class -- option.

Generally speedy performance ; Easy to use ; Attractive, compact package ; 3.1-inch widescreen LCD ; 720p movie capture

Barrel distortion and vignetting at wide angle ; Charging via USB only ; Small, easily lost USB adapter

If you've got your heart set on a 12-megapixel camera -- and unless you're printing larger than 8x10 or cropping in very tightly, you might want to scale your sights back to a lower-resolution model with optical image stabilisation, such as the...
