The Z740's easy photo sharing and powerful zoom are enticing, but tentative long-distance focusing reduces the latter's value

Long (10X) zoom lens. Good ergonomics. Lots of dedicated analog controls. Plenty of manual controls. Good menu system and on-screen help. LCD automatically adjusts to lighting conditions.

No image stabilization. Electronic viewfinder is terrible. Images are noisy and have lots of artifacts. Joystick can be difficult to use.
