Konica Minolta DiMAGE X60 - digital camera review

The 5-megapixel Konica Minolta Dimage X60 will appeal to snapshot photographers who want a no-fuss, no-muss camera that looks good and can be carried everywhere. This model updates the earlier X50 with a new internal 3X zoom lens, a 2.5-inch LCD, and a...

Easy to use and carry everywhere; attractive design; solid image quality; voice-recording mode; underwater housing available.

Bare-bones feature set vis-à-vis most of the competition, no AF-assist light, low-resolution movie mode.

Slim and stylish, this little camera provides no-brainer snapshooting and decent image quality for those who don't care about anything more than the basic features.

Digital Cameras - Konica Minolta DiMAGE X60 Digital Camera Review, Information, Specifications

Continuing the trend of the entire Konica Minolta X-series cameras, the DiMAGE X60 is a very slim, small, and convenient digicam that offers just what most users want from this ultra-small category: good quality that they can take anywhere. Its very...

Slim form factor, literally shirt-pocket sized, Internal lens design means no external moving protrusions to damage, Excellent Macro mode, Fast prefocus shutter lag, Produces good prints at most ISOs, Big, beautiful LCD screen, entirely usable in full...

Slow AF and shot-to-shot speed, Aggressive noise suppression reduces detail at high ISO, Poor low-light performance, Very weak flash (very common with subcompact cameras), SD card door is a little flimsy, Battery has no retention latch, falls free when...

The DiMAGE X60 has a 3.0x, 6.3-18.9mm lens, the equivalent of a 38-114mm lens on a 35mm camera. That's a little less wide and a little more tele than the X50. The autofocus covers a range from 4 inches (10 cm) to infinity. A Super Macro scene mode...

Konica Minolta DiMAGE X60

The X60 competes in the very crowded ultra-compact category, which means that it has its work cut out for it. How does it perform? Find out now in our review

Compact metal body ; Decent photo quality... most of the time ; Super fast startup time ; Large 2.5" LCD display (though resolution could be higher) ; Can easily grab frames from movies ; Improved software bundle over previous models

Blurry edges of photos; some color weirdness ; Poor low light focusing; no AF-assist lamp ; Redeye ; Below average battery life ; Battery cover doesn't like to stay closed ; Movie mode is lacking in 2005 ; Could really use USB 2.0 High Speed support ;...

If the competition wasn't so good I'd be more excited about the DiMAGE X60. Unfortunately there are better cameras out there for your hard earned dollars, and I've listed some of them below.

Konica Minolta's DiMAGE X60; A Must-Carry Digital Point-And-Shoot

Measurements, Konica Minolta estimates you can capture approximately 150 frames using the standard battery and a Secure Digital memory card. As with EPA gasoline MPG ratings, your own mileage may vary

A five-point autofocus enables flexible framing to catch action and you can use Spot Focus mode to focus on a specific point within the frame. The X60's Multi-segment (256) metering system automatically measures light over the entire image area and...

Konica Minolta DiMAGE X60

For $350, the DiMAGE X60 is a sharp, simple, and convenient camera in an ultracompact package. Pity about the video, though

Konica Minolta Dimage X60 digital camera

The Konica Minolta DiMAGE X60 is a nice and thin digital camera with large LCD screen for easy framing and viewing of snapshots. It captures 5 megapixel images and its 3 times zoom and exceptional lens technology are capable of producing fine photos....

Other thin camera models from Konica Minolta are: the 8-megapixel DiMAGE X1 and the 5-megapixel DiMAGE X50.

Konica Minolta Dimage X60

A basic, thoughtfully designed ultracompact snapshot camera.

Easy to use and carry everywhere ; Attractive design ; Solid image quality ; Voice-recording mode ; Underwater housing available

Bare-bones feature set vis-à-vis most of the competition ; No AF-assist light ; Low-resolution movie mode

The flash range is only about 2.4 meters in wide angle and drops to a maximum of 2 meters in telephoto, so you need to be relatively close to your subject in dim light.

Konica Minolta Dimage X60

Konica Minolta Dimage X60 Review and Where to Find the Best Prices. Typical pocket sized digital camera. This one has five megapixels and a three times zoom lens.

Ease of use ; Compact shape

Lack of depth to the colours

There are many better ultra compact digital cameras than the Konica Minolta X60. Having said that this is the cheapest five megapixel model from the main brands. Worth a look if you do not want to break the bank.
