Leica M-E (Typ 220)

 

The Leica M-E (Typ 220) is the least expensive digital rangefinder in the company's lineup, appealing to CCD devotees and Leica shooters who have no need for live view.

Excellent image quality. Full-frame image sensor. Bright optical viewfinder. Compact form factor. Includes Adobe Lightroom software.

Expensive. Manual focus only. No live view or video support. Outdated rear LCD.

With only a few slight differences between the Leica M9 (and M9-P) and the new M-E, the £600 gulf in price between the cameras does make the M-E seem like more of a bargain. For those with newer lenses, the features lacking in the M-E certainly won't...
