Nikon Coolpix P60

The Nikon Coolpix P60 will hold your hand if that's what you want, but this entry-level digital camera is also ready to grow with you.

Impressive zoom and focal-length range. Digital viewfinder can sub for LCD. Ability to start up in review mode. Great color in daylight shots. In-camera editing options.

Slow recycle and start-up. LCD impossible to use in direct sunlight. Bulky for "compact" camera. No rechargeable battery option.

The Nikon Coolpix P60 is one of the more interesting point-and-shoot digital cameras on the market, offering an attractive combination of sensible 8 megapixel resolution and 5x zoom lens complete with CCD-shift image stabilization for blur-free...

The Nikon Coolpix P60 is a well-built (especially solid with two AA batteries inserted) and reasonably priced option for digital beginners or casual snappers, if slightly boringly bringing nothing new to the party. Yes, it delivers image...

Nikon Coolpix P60 Digital Camera - First Shots - The Imaging Resource!

The Nikon Coolpix P60 is designed for the enthusiast looking for a compact digicam with manual control, and advanced Nikon features such as an optically-stabilized 5x VR zoom lens, Face-Priority AF and D-Lighting.

The Nikon Coolpix P60 has an 8.1 megapixel imager, 5x optically stabilized zoom lens, 2.5" LCD display, AA batteries for power, and SD slot plus a not-very-generous 12MB of built-in memory

Nikon Coolpix P60 Review

The P60 has a nice balance of features and size, and with a list of features that includes manual exposure control, will the P60 come out on top? Let's find out.

Compact, yet full-featured, Manual modes, Good electronic viewfinder, Above average battery life on NiMHs

Long flash recharge/poor flash judgment, Weak, plastic construction, LCD could be higher resolution, Lens distortion may bother some

Nikon CoolPix P60

Carrying an 8.1-megapixel sensor and a manual shooting mode, Nikon's latest advanced camera, the P60 is a pretty good unit for more experienced photog...

Sharp pictures, good colour balance, 5x optical zoom with image stabilisation

High haloing due to chromatic aberration, some speed issues

Nikon's CoolPix P60 is a good all around enthusiast compact which packs in a basic manual shooting mode with good image quality and a fairly petite design.

Nikon Coolpix P60 digital camera

The Nikon Coolpix P60 is one step up from the P50 we tested back on December 2007. It sits in Nikon's "Performance" Coolpix range (hence that "P" in the name) and offers an 8.1-megapixel resolution and neat shooting features similar to the P50, but...

Easy to use, good "classic" design and styling, simple control layout, AA-battery power, image quality, nice manual controls

High ISO image noise, electronic viewfinder

The Nikon Coolpix P60 is the same price as the P50 and barring the EVF; it’s a much better camera in terms of performance. There’s some noticeable barrel distortion on that lens, a lens which offers, in my view, a less flexible focal range than the...

Nikon Coolpix P60

Stolid rather than sexy, competent rather than classy, the boxy Nikon Coolpix P60 is a belt-and-braces, real ale-supping point-and-shoot. The cool kids won't be impressed, but we're always glad to see a compact that gives such reliable images

Simple operation ; Reliable image quality

Badly placed viewfinder and flash ; Pedestrian styling

Conclusion The Nikon Coolpix P60 is a solid point-and-shoot. It's not the smallest, fastest or sexiest camera and if you want a longer zoom compact, the Sony Cyber-shot DSC-W300 is much racier. But if the Mr Average styling is your cup of...

Can this compact marry style and simplicity?

Within its market there's a lot of choice, which may leave this contender out in the cold
