Nikon Coolpix S610c

The 10-megapixel Nikon Coolpix S610c takes amazing shots and features built-in Wi-Fi, which lets you jump onto any wireless network to send pics via e-mail.

Excellent image quality. Very little noise at high ISO settings. Fast. Built-in Wi-Fi works well, lets you upload and e-mail photos quickly and easily.

Controls feel flimsy. Images transferred via Wi-Fi are downsized. Barrel distortion is considerable in wide-angle shots.

Nikon Coolpix S610 Review

Following close on the heels of the Nikon S600, the Nikon Coolpix S610 premium ultracompact provides a few nice upgrades in a redesigned platform for the manufacturer's latest Wi-Fi camera. But can the standard version, without the benefit of novel...

Good image and color quality ; Very good AF acquisition time

Disappointing shutter lag ; No manual controls

has also launched a Wi-Fi equipped version of this camera, the more popular S610c. But lacking this unique file transfer functionality, is our standard S610 a slightly re-packaged S600, or has Nikon broken some new ground that's not readily apparent?...

Nikon Coolpix S610c

This compact new Coolpix model from Nikon has a 10-megapixel sensor, 4x zoom, and an integrated Wi-Fi capability that lets you email or post photos without going near a computer. The wireless system works at public Wi-Fi hotspots, including those with...

The camera's lens is quite fast, with a maximum aperture of f/2.7 (and a minimum of f/11.6), and a 4x zoom ratio, enabling fast shutter speeds even with marginal indoor lighting. Apart from that, the hardware of the camera is pretty pedestrian. Shutter...

Nikon Coolpix S610c

The front of the Nikon Coolpix S610c looks like the vast majority of point-and-shoot cameras on the market. It's not an entirely boring iteration of a familiar design, as it has some nice beveled edges and a mock-brushed-metal facade, but it's hardly...

Nikon Coolpix S610c

One of Nikon's latest digital cameras is the Nikon Coolpix S610c, which is a point-and-shoot camera that works out quite well for users out there due to its excellent indoor and outdoor photo quality as well built-in Wi-Fi. Its other features include a...

Large 3-inch LCD display ; Excellent image quality & is fast ; Shutter lag is minimal-to-none ; Built-in Wi-Fi

Using Wi-Fi to send photos reduces their quality to 2MP

Overall, the Nikon Coolpix S610c is a solid point-and-shoot camera that it small and compact, but yet is still powerful. It has a lot of nice features, from the 3-inch LCD to the 10-megapixel resolution and built-in Wi-Fi, makes it a camera well-worth...

Nikon CoolPix S610c

Similar in many ways to the CoolPix S610 that we recently reviewed, the Nikon CoolPix S610c has the same pros and cons as its cheaper brother but come...

Wireless connectivity, good colour balance, incredibly fast start-up time

High levels of chromatic aberration, high shutter lag and slow shot-to-shot time, slow wireless transfers

Nikon's CoolPix S610c is a solid compact camera with a few notable problems. It takes fairly good snaps and has wireless connectivity; however, uploading photos can be slow. The camera itself is incredibly slow at times, which makes for a frustrating...

Nikon CoolPix S610c

Nikon's new compact lets you upload your pictures to the Internet directly from your camera via built-in Wi-Fi.

, the S610c is the first to use the new Wi-Fi Protected Setup (WPS) protocol, which is supposed to be an easier way for inexperienced users to connect securely to a home wireless network. Having tried the camera on my own home network, it is indeed...

Nikon Coolpix S610c

Nikon release a new batch of "Style" compacts on an unassuming world and the S610 is part of them. Featuring 10Mp, a 4x optical zoom and wireless connection, all in a teeny tiny body.

Nice design; Easy to use; Wireless capability; Wide angle lens

Noise at low ISO levels
