Nikon D1H Review

The D1x and D1H were originally announced back in February 2001, at the time it was interesting to find out that Nikon were upgrading the D1 not to one model but two. The D1x has a six megapixel sensor but because of the large size of its image files...

Excellent colour reproduction, new selectable colour space is very welcome Clean, noise free images even at high ISO sensitivities Noise, when it does appear, is random in nature (more like film grain) New and very easy to use menu system - full text...

JPEG/TIFF files are not tagged with colorspace in a standard way Resolution may be seen as 'last generation' (although more than sufficient for most) Semitransparent LCD cover should have been totally transparent When camera is powered off only the...

Nikon took the already very good D1, fixed several of the issues surrounding it (colour space, pattern noise) added even better image quality, a much more user friendly menu system and text custom functions. They also boosted its continuous shooting...

Nikon D1H Digital Camera Review: Intro and Highlights

Nikon is one of the names that literally needs no introduction in the world of photography. Long a leader in the film world, they offer cameras for both the serious amateur and working professional. Their professional line contains cameras like the...

The D1H's electronic optical viewfinder was only a little tight, showing approximately 93.5 percent frame accuracy. (Nikon claims 95% accuracy, pretty much in line with my test.) I generally prefer viewfinders to be as close to 100 percent accuracy as...

Nikon D1H Review Round-Up

The D1H is based on the original 2.74 megapixel D1 sensor but has a far larger data buffer and frame rate ability. Capable of shooting at a maximum of 5 frames per second for up to 40 frames the D1H is clearly aimed at sports and current affairs...

Nikon D1H Digital Camera Review

The D1H is fast, well built and offers high image quality. The camera is a joy to work with; it really felt as if my F100 had been transformed into a digital camera.

A great professional camera, with some drawbacks

I have been using this camera for my job for the past 4 years. I am NOT a professional photographer, but a computer programmer that has integrated D1H's into a remote imaging system. I have been able to use it for personal use as well as a side benefit...

Great flexibility, easy to use out of the box, many advanced features.

heavy, 2.74 MP limits to 8x10 or 10x12(in some cases), price.
