Nikon D2X

The Nikon D2X is perfect for the enthusiast with professional aspirations who wants to tap into one of the best D-SLR systems available.

Incredible versatility. Great picture quality. Large file sizes for editing and manipulation. Supported by a fantastic array of lenses, flashes, and accessories.

Very expensive. 1.5X magnification factor limits wide-angle lenses. No lens or built-in flash.

Nikon D2X Review

Four years is a long time, especially in the digital photography business. When the D1X was announced back in February 2001 (along with the D1H) it was certainly cutting edge, offering almost six megapixels in the D1's proven quality body the D1X...

Superb resolution, very good per-pixel sharpness, even more from RAW Multi-talented camera, also offers 'sports shooting' at eight frames per second Wide tonal range, good dynamic range, smart auto tone selection Clean image processing, almost no...

Higher noise at ISO 1600 and 3200 than we would hope (with NR off) Smaller default sensitivity range (ISO 100 to 800) than other digital SLR's Inaccurate color response from LCD monitor (green hue shift in reds) Disappointing automatic white balance...

It wouldn't be harsh to say that some people were disappointed with the D2H, a great body with excellent performance let down by a slightly experimental sensor which didn't perform to the same level as the rest of the camera. With the D2X Nikon has...

Nikon D2X review

When Nikon introduced the D2H reflex camera for the enhanced action/photojournalist; the world expected the camera to be followed by a D2X very promptly. This was the case with the D1 series and the Internet rumours made us expect the new flagship any...

The Nikonians have had to wait a long time for the Nikon D2X. For some maybe just a bit too long. And after the introduction it took a while before the first cameras were shipped. But all this waiting was well worth it. The Nikon D2X is definitely one...

Nikon D2X Digital Camera Review: Intro and Highlights

The new Nikon D2X is the latest addition to one of the world's most famous camera lines. The new D2X updates the D1X model that hit the market in mid-2001. As you might expect, there's been a lot of development in the intervening three years between...

Nikon D2X Review Round-Up

With the D2X Nikon has shifted to a CMOS sensor, there's no doubting the amount of detail captured combined with Nikon's image processing can produce stunning results. … The advantage of only using the 'sweet spot' area of the lens is clear, full size...

Handling-wise, we had no complaints with the Nikon D2X. Controls were strategically placed and the durable magnesium alloy body comes armored in rubber seals to keep out moisture and dust. It is built to last too, with a rated shutter lifespan of over...
