Nikon Z 5 Review

24MP full-frame sensor ; 5-axis IBIS ; Tilting touch LCD ; High-magnification OLED EVF ; Dust and splash protection ; Dual UHS-II card slots ; Works with Nikon F lenses via adapter

Cropped 4K recording ; Autofocus a step behind Canon and Sony ; Meager 4.5fps continuous drive ; Z lens library still in development ; Few third-party Z lenses available

The Nikon Z 5 offers a lot for photographers moving from a Nikon SLR system to mirrorless, even though it omits some of the latest bells and whistles to meet its price point.

Nikon Z5 review: the best value stills-oriented full-framer

For still photographers, we feel the Nikon Z5 represents the best value for the money when it comes to full-frame mirrorless cameras. Which is why it receives our top award.

The Z5 is an extremely well-rounded camera for stills photography (we'll talk video in a minute). In fact, it's easily the the most compelling stills-oriented full-framer for the cash in 2020. This also makes it a natural vehicle to convert Nikon users...

Nikon Z5 review

The Nikon Z5 makes a modest case for a great street camera

Can be easily used one-handed ; Compact form factor ; Dual slot SD ; Competitively priced

Must use adapter for old lenses ; Crop on 4K video footage ; LCD is only partially articulating

Whether you are looking to step up your photography to a professional level or just seeking a high-quality daily-use camera, the Z5 will get you going without costing a fortune.

Nikon Z5 Review

The Z5 is Nikon's brand new entry-level full-frame mirrorless camera, sitting below the mid-range Z6 and flagship Z7 models in the three-camera lineup, and above the APS-C sensor Z50. Designed to compete with the likes of the Canon EOS R, Sony A7 III...

Nikon Z5 Review

The Nikon Z 5 is Nikon's third full-frame Z camera, and its first entry-level full-frame mirrorless model. In many ways, the Z 5, known hereafter as the 'Z5', shares several features with the Nikon Z6 series of cameras, including the newly announced Z6...

Nikon Z5 review

An entry-level full-frame mirrorless camera that's just as well suited to many professionals as experienced amateurs, the Nikon Z5 is easy to use while still offering all the manual features and customized settings you'd expect from a camera in this...

The large, touch-sensitive LCD is a dream, but the inability to flip and swivel the monitor is unfortunate. The weather-sealing is a welcome detail, though. Those who plan to shoot more video than still photos should check out the Sony Alpha a6600,...

Nikon Z 5: A Z-Series Camera For the Masses

the Nikon Z 5 has launched as the perfect all-round Nikon mirrorless camera, we took it out for tests and put it on the spot in #TheMeasure.

Dual Cards ; Articulating Screen ; Small Body

Pricing compared to a Z 6 is questionable

Review: Nikon Z5 is an entry-level full-frame mirrorless camera that feels anything but entry-level | AppleInsider

The full-frame, mirrorless Nikon Z5 will up your photography game without breaking the bank, and has a wealth of connectivity features that fit perfectly into the Apple ecosystem.

Solid design and build ; Best features of the pricier Z6 at a cheaper price ; Crazy fast 1/8000 shutter speed ; Great connectivity with USB-C and SnapBridge app ; Z-Mount lenses continue to expand ; Relocated mode dial is more convenient to control ;...

Non-BSI sensor ; Average 4.5 shots per second burst ; 1.7 crop on 4K video ; Lower resolution back monitor

Review: Nikon Z5 Camera | Budget-friendly Camera Nikon Z5 Camera

Nikon's most affordable full format Z camera Nikon Z5 is best in its class in one area, but has some shortcomings and costs too much.

Trustworthy, weatherproof construction, impeccable ergonomics with a sharp viewfinder, lightning-fast autofocus in most cases, and the best still image quality in the class.

Powerful cropping on 4K video, low shooting rate, the price is almost the same as the Nikon Z6.

One might suspect Nikon to come on 4K video way too late, on the Z5, and whoever found out that it was a good idea to throttle the firing rate to just 4.5 bps, we would like to know. Maybe you were at Nikon, afraid that the camera would be too similar...

Nikon Z5 review

Will the new Nikon Z5 ‘entry level' full-frame camera be enough to persuade you to make the move to mirrorless?

Solid, robust feeling build ; Good EVF and tilting rear screen ; Twin memory card slots

Only 4.5fps continuous shooting ; 4K video is cropped ; 24-50mm kit lens is limiting ; Nikon Z6 is better value

The Z5 is a very good entry-level full frame camera, but its relatively high launch price may just persuade some potential purchasers that it’s worth forking out the relatively little extra for the Z6. Compared to other brands, the Z5 is neither cheap...
