Olympus E450 review

With the arrival of the Olympus E-450, the assortment of FourThirds DSLR cameras is enhanced once more. The Olympus E-450 is the successor to the E-420 and takes over the lead of being one of the world's most compact DSLR cameras. This fight is...

Olympus has a wide range of digital SLR cameras in its assortment. From entry-level models to the semi-pro DSLR cameras, innovation and high technology simply seem to go hand in hand. The so-called Four Thirds camera system, although explained with a...

Olympus E-450 Review

The Olympus E-450 is a new compact DSLR camera. Offering 10 megapixels and a 2.7 inch LCD screen, the diminutive E450 is one of the smallest and lightest digital SLR cameras on the market, weighing less than 400g and easily fitting into a small...

The Olympus E-450 is a very compact, lightweight yet fairly robust feeling little DSLR that comes with a lot of features for an entry-level camera. Not only does it offer manual exposure and focusing modes for the advanced user; it also has features...

Olympus E-450 review

Olympus's entry-level DSLR gets an upgrade, but can it really compete with its latest rivals?

Good user interface ; Good pictures ; Fairly decent AF system ; Compact body

Small sensor in comparison to competition

If you want to only look at pixels, you might decide the E-450 lags behind other 10MP DSLRs, but that's only part of the story. This is a compact, well-featured camera with a decent kit lens, which goes well towards offsetting the smaller sensor

Olympus E-450

Olympus has announced yet another camera to contend for the title of the world's smallest dSLR. It's not much of an evolution from the E-420, but has a couple of extra features that have trickled down from its older siblings.

The Olympus E-450 will be available from September for AU$999 with a 14-42mm lens.

Olympus E-450 review

This is a lovely, compact DSLR with high-end features, but the lack of any image stabilisation is disappointing.

Olympus E-450

Review Olympus isn't the first brand that comes to mind when you're looking for a new DSLR, but that doesn't mean the 10Mp E-450 is a disappointment. Its styling has a retro charm, with its chunky leather-effect grip, and there's no complaining about...

Unfortunately, the side effect of the E-450's neat styling is comfort. The E-450 barely offers enough grip on the right hand side. Instead of nestling the camera in the palm of your hand, you have to pinch it between your thumb and your middle finger,...

Olympus E-450

Apart from its 10.1 megapixel Live MOS sensor, it also offers a 2.7 inch LCD screen supported by HyperCrystal II technology with 176° viewing angle. Its body is structured by fiber-glass with reinforced plastic, which makes it a light weight camera yet...

But if you are compare this DSLR camera with other entry level ones, Olympus E 450 offers you with more advanced features and is compact in size. It is a literally a toy for a novice photographer and a delight to professional photographer.

Photo Review was given the E-450 to evaluate as a twin-lens kit with the Olympus Digital 14-42mm f/3.5-5.6 and 40-150mm f/4-5.6 kit lenses, both of which we have already reviewed. Although the test camera proved fast and efficient with both lenses when...
