Olympus SP-620UZ

The Olympus SP-620UZ is an affordable, compact (but not pocket size) superzoom camera with a 21x zoom lens. It's affordably priced, but not as refined as its pricier competition.

Inexpensive. Relatively compact. Sharp lens. Strong performance. 21x zoom lens.

Image quality suffers at high ISOs. Cannot adjust zoom while recording video. Video limited to 720p. Low-res rear LCD.

Performance and Conclusions The SP-620UZ performs quite admirably, especially considering its low price. It starts and shoots in 1.9 seconds and records a short 0.2-second shutter lag. Its shot-to-shot time is 1.3 seconds at full resolution, but it can...

Olympus SP-620UZ Review

The SP-620UZ performs well for a sub-$200 point-and-shoot. You get a powerful lens with a 25mm wide angle for a reasonable price. If you can live without quick focus, fast performance, and a high-resolution LCD, you'll have fun going zoom zoom zoom...

Powerful 21x wide-angle zoom lens ; Accurate exposures ; Sturdy hand grip and body ; Very fast high-speed burst modes ; Records high-definition video ; Dedicated movie record button ; Runs on AA batteries (available anywhere) ; Helpful guide system...

Auto focus could be more accurate ; Moderate-resolution LCD (230,000 dots) ; Slow continuous shooting at 16MP (0.8fps) ; Cannot zoom during video recording ; Controls are small and crowded together ; iAuto without flash takes blurry shots in low light...

Olympus SP-620UZ Review

The Olympus SP-620UZ is the successor to last year's SP-610UZ camera, sporting a 16-megapixel CCD sensor and a 21x ultra-zoom lens. Also on board is Olympus' sensor-shift image stabilisation system, TruePic III+ image processor, a range of Magic...

If you want an expansive (not to mention normally expensive) lens reach but don't want your wallet to take anywhere near as big a financial hit as the best current examples of the bridge camera in the much flashier but way pricier Fuji XS-1 or HS30,...

Olympus SP-620UZ

The Olympus SP-620 is a very good buy if you want lots of zoom and ease of use. It may not have many frills, but it takes a decent picture in reasonable light or within flash range. You get a lot of lens power for the price. It does its job with a...

Olympus SP-620UZ Compact Digital Camera Review

The Olympus SP-620UZ has a 21x optical zoom lens and is designed for travelling photography. Daniel Bell puts it to the test.

21x optical zoom lens; Magic filters are unique to Olympus; Fast high-speed shooting modes; Decent image quality for the price; Excellent value for money; In-camera panoramic stitching

Nice Point and Shoot

Wanted a DSLR, but didn't want to spend the money on one. So I got this instead.

Nice little Point and Shoot. Haven't really had any issues, except for issues on my end when learning how to use it. Lots of megapixels and a good zoem

Got it at a steal!

I took off an egg for no shutter speed, then I took perhaps the most beautiful panoramic I've ever taken on a camera under 1k, then reconsidered. This really is a great little camera, don't let the premise of a 22MP camera with digital zoom fool you--...

Got this during a short-time sale the site offered before x-mas at an absolute steal. Amazing picture quality, one of the best 16MPs I've ever stumbled across! Good interface, plenty of customization options, and access to everything you need. Optical...

Nitpick 1: The lens cover does not secure very well-- it will fall off if it is snagged on anything at all, such as the wall of a camera case or the sleeve of your shirt. Good thing it comes with an attachment! Nitpick 2: No option to change shutter...
