Olympus SP-620UZ

The Olympus SP-620UZ is an affordable, compact (but not pocket size) superzoom camera with a 21x zoom lens. It's affordably priced, but not as refined as its pricier competition.

Inexpensive. Relatively compact. Sharp lens. Strong performance. 21x zoom lens.

Image quality suffers at high ISOs. Cannot adjust zoom while recording video. Video limited to 720p. Low-res rear LCD.

Performance and Conclusions The SP-620UZ performs quite admirably, especially considering its low price. It starts and shoots in 1.9 seconds and records a short 0.2-second shutter lag. Its shot-to-shot time is 1.3 seconds at full resolution, but it can...

Olympus SP-620UZ review

Budget priced 21x superzoom suitable for beginners and the broke

Broader than average zoom range ; 16MP sensor ; Modest ISO range ; Easy to use ; Inexpensive

Can't record sound and use optical zoom together ; Feels plasticky ; Over-sensitive scroll wheel ; Lacks key features of pricier models

Recent bridge camera/superzoom releases such as the Fuji X-S1 might have suggested cameras sporting large, fixed lenses were evolving into luxury items second only to DSLRs. Blowing that theory is the Olympus SP-620UZ, which is resolutely a...

Olympus SP-620UZ

In recent months we've witnessed super zooms or "bridge" cameras straying into the luxury bracket. We've seen the Leica V-Lux 3 and Fujifilm X-S1 for example, matching semi-pro DSLRs for cost and many of their specifications. Though, like the...

Broader than average zoom range, sensible price, delivers natural colours, commendably sharp results at maximum zoom

Plasticy feel, fiddly rear scroll wheel, non-rechargeable batteries, lack of electronic or optical viewfinder, no hotshoe for accessory flash, low(ish) resolution LCD, can’t shoot video with sound and use the optical zoom

While the SP-620UZ is plasticy and basic looking compared with a top-of-the-range bridge camera, the feeling here is that we are more or less getting what we’re paying for, which can’t be bad.

Olympus SP-620UZ Digital Camera Review, Tech Specs, Price.

Olympus SP-620UZ is a new age digital camera with high mega pixels and image stabilization features. It can be availed at budget-friendly price.

• The salient features of SP-620UZ are as follows: ; • Image Sensor of 1/2.3″, 16 Megapixels ; • 3.0 inches 230K dots LCD display ; • Resolution of 16.0 MP ; • Optical Zoom of 21 X ; • Focal Length of 4.5-94.5mm (25-525mm equivalent in 35mm...

• Not so impressive build quality ; • No viewfinder ; • Poor image stabilization

After doing the SP-620UZ Review, we can say that it is not very much suitable for hard-core photographers, who want some advanced functions and features. It is a device that best suits the requirements of mid-end consumers, looking for a cost-effective...
