Olympus Stylus-7010

The Olympus Stylus-7010 packs a 7x zoom into its small body, but soft images and a lack of HD video recording hold this budget camera back.

7x optical zoom in thin body. Unique auto-focus can lock onto and tracks moving objects. Fast lens motor provides speedy zooming.

Soft images. Noticeable shutter lag. No HD Video capture. Proprietary USB and AV connections.

Olympus Mju 7010 Review

The Olympus Mju 7010 (also known as the Stylus 7010) is a new 12 megapixel compact camera with a 7x optical zoom lens. Offering a versatile focal range of 28-196mm, the Olympus 7010 also features a 2.7 inch LCD screen, Dual Image Stabilisation and AF...

Despite the fact that Olympus has revamped its formerly rather tired looking menu icons and provided users with a funkier if cartoon-ish interface, plus shoehorned in some creative effects filters and user friendly features, the Mju 7010 is an...

Olympus Stylus 7010 Review

Olympus has been known for bringing camera concepts down to size - the original half-frame Pen, their latest Micro Four Thirds efforts, and now the Stylus 7010.

Long 7x zoom ; Super thin, ultra-compact ; Faithful color reproduction

No manual exposure ; Noisy images ; Slightly slow shot-to-shot

Noise levels are quite reasonable up to ISO 200, but distortion levels rise as sensitivity rises. At ISO 400 and higher, noise is noticeably above average.

Olympus Stylus-7010 has a little chassis and bigger features

Olympus has announced the newest addition to its fashion-oriented ultracompact digital camera line: the Stylus-7010. The new 1-inch thick model featuring 12MP resolution and a 7x wide-angle/long-zoom lens (equivalent to a 28-196mm zoom) plus some...

Olympus Stylus 7010

The Olympus Stylus 7010 is an ultra-compact with a 7X wide-angle optical zoom lens, built-in stabilization and a 12 megapixels sensor. Image quality has both good and less good aspects, falling just short of a good Rating. In terms of speed though,...

Natural image colors, Good white-balance with light cast under tungsten, Good lens sharpness, Mostly reliable exposure, Very fast and responsive, except for EC and some review features, Excellent LCD visibility

High noise at all ISO, Fine details are muddled by noise-reduction, Color shift at ISO 1600, Too few zoom steps, Very limited feature set, no custom white-balance, no short self-timer, Below average image stabilization

The Olympus Stylus 7010 is an interesting offering. It is a clear let-down in terms of image noise and details but for typical small prints this should not be an issue. Even the ISO 800 setting will make a nice small print. When we consider the good...

Olympus mju-7010

With 12 megapixels and 7x wide-angle zoom the mju-7010 is a fully automatic all-rounder

, which has a 10x zoom lens equivalent to 28-280mm. However the mju-7010 is lighter and more compact than its stablemate, weighing 140g including battery and only 26.2mm thick. Even at full zoom extension it's only 60mm front to back. The body is...

Olympus Mju 7010 digital camera

Looking to upgrade from your camera phone to a "proper" camera or just after an unobtrusive point-and-shoot for a weekend break? Having produced shockproof, waterproof and freeze proof compacts for its Mju Tough range, Olympus is, it seems, going...

User friendly operation, solid construction, portably pocket sized, quick and responsive for the most part

Still images are flat and dull in appearance straight out of the camera (if not utilising magic effects filters), with loss of focus towards frame edges when shooting at maximum wide angle. No HD movies, which seems amiss when similarly priced rivals...

The Mju 7010 is coolly minimalist in appearance and whilst at times less can indeed be more, here it’s simply a bit un-involving. Take away the better than average zoom range and the fun effects filters and this is just another run of the mill compact...
