Panasonic Lumix DMC-ZS30

Panasonic's compact Lumix DMC-ZS30 features a long 20x zoom lens and integrated Wi-Fi, NFC, and GPS, but image quality disappoints.

Snappy focus. 20x zoom range. Sharp rear LCD. Wi-Fi with NFC. GPS. 1080p60 video.

Pricey. Lens could be sharper. So-so high ISO performance. Very limited burst shooting. Does not include external battery charger.

Performance and Conclusions The ZS30 starts and shoots in 1.5 seconds and manages a short 0.1-second shutter lag at its widest angle. Focus is reasonably fast when zoomed all the way in, it took about 1.2 seconds to bring an out-of-focus subject into...

Panasonic Lumix DMC-ZS30 review

For the Lumix DMC-ZS30, Panasonic took what was already an excellent camera, the ZS20 , tweaked it a bit and added Wi-Fi. The result is another excellent compact megazoom that gives you a bit more for your money.

The Panasonic Lumix DMC-ZS30 gets you a lot of features in a compact body including a 20x zoom lens, 3-inch touch screen, Wi-Fi for remote control of the camera as well as easy sharing, high-speed and full HD movie capture, and GPS. Photo quality and...

The power and Wi-Fi buttons are too easy to accidentally press. There's no raw capture option. Battery life can be short if you do more than just take photos. Photos look soft and have visible noise/artifacts when viewed at full size even at its lowest...

A fully loaded travel zoom that's fun to use, the Panasonic Lumix DMC-ZS30 has a lot to offer both advanced and casual snapshooters.

Panasonic Lumix DMC-ZS30 Preview

Panasonic's new Lumix DMC-ZS30 is a powerful compact super-zoom, one that Panasonic claims is their, "most advanced photo and video hybrid compact camera to date". This camera is packed with features you'd normally find in larger cameras, like a...

Panasonic Lumix DMC-TZ40 Review

The Lumix DMC-TZ40 (also known as the DMC-ZS30 in the USA) is Panasonic's latest travel-zoom camera, featuring a 20x 24-480mm lens, 18.1 megapixel high-sensitivity MOS sensor, 50p Full HD movies, 5-axis image stabiliser, built-in Wi-Fi and GPS...

While last years' Lumix DMC-TZ30 / ZS25 model was more of a modest upgrade rather than a radical departure from what had gone before, 2013's DMC-TZ40 / ZS30 feels like a much more significant step forward for Panasonic's wildly popular travel-zoom...

Panasonic Lumix DMC-TZ40 Review

For the price of Rs. 25,990, the Panasonic Lumix DMC-TZ40 makes a compelling argument as a good purchase. Do we like it? Yes. Is it perfect? No. All in all, it's a really fast travel zoom and we do recommend you get yourself one if you're in the market...

Excellent build quality, Fast burst rate, Lots of video frame rate options, Stereo microphones

Changing aperture and shutter speed is awkward, Poorly designed menus, Lens has a slow aperture., Slightly pricier than cameras in its league

Panasonic TZ40 review: the new addition to Panasonic's popular ultra-wide TZ range of travel compacts brings a lot of sophisticated features. But can it deliver on image quality? Amy Davies puts it to the test in her Panasonic TZ40 review video.

Panasonic Lumix TZ40 / ZS30

To look at last year's TZ30 / ZS20 you'd again be forgiven for thinking it already had everything apart from the kitchen sink: a very usable 20x optical zoom packed into a surprisingly pocketable camera with full manual control, 1080p HD video,...

Broad 20x optical zoom covers every situation in slim body., 1080p video with zooming, stereo sound and continuous AF., Built-in GPS with landmarks and basic street mapping., Built-in Wifi with NFC and smartphone remote control., Touch-screen interface...

Can't disable IS for video - not ideal for tripod filming., Touch-screen not used for text-entry., Need to be running Image App before attempting Wifi or NFC link., NFC connection sometimes requires several taps., Direct uploads from camera are slow &...

Panasonic Lumix ZS30/TZ40 Review

For camera makers the bad news is that smart phones and their inbuilt cameras are hurting the sales of compact digicams.

Panasonic Lumix TZ40

Simply one of the best travel compacts on the market.

Impressive zoom for such a compact body ; Wi-Fi and NFC connectivity welcome ; Great build quality ; Effective image stabilisation

Small buttons prove fiddly ; No Raw capture ; Small touchscreen icons

While it’s generally a positive picture in terms of design, the Panasonic TZ40 isn’t completely without flaw. Unfortunately the buttons found of the rear of the camera are a touch on the small side, and as a result can prove problematic to press while...

Good zoom length ; Touchscreen ; Digital filters ; GPS and Wi-Fi

No raw capture ; Wi-Fi functions could be better
