Panasonic Lumix DMC-FZ50 review: Panasonic Lumix DMC-FZ50

Intro Superzooms are nothing new, but somewhere along the line, a portion of them have evolved into catch-all SLR substitutes, with long, fast zoom lenses, high megapixel counts, manual exposure controls, and in some cases, even hotshoes and raw image...

Fast, 12X optical, image-stabilized zoom lens; raw capture; sensitivity to as high as ISO 1,600.

Big camera body; auto white balance is bad with tungsten lighting; relatively expensive.

If you can get past its large size, Panasonic's DMC-FZ50 is a decent choice for a superzoom.

Great camera.... case is too small

Great camera.... easy to upload pics to the computer or scanner printer....Quality pictures.....easy to use camera..... Looks much meaner in person then the pictures give it credit for.

The Lowepro pouch that is suggested for this camera is way too small for the camera. So don't get this accessory. Definately get the 2GB memory card upgrade though, because the one that it comes with will only hold up to 4 or 5 pictures. So it's...

Wow, just wow!

I have taken thousands of images with this camera. I'm completely happy with it. If I come into some big bucks later, I may go for the Canon DSLRs, but I'll bet you won't be able to tell which camera produced the images.

Will do most anything a DSLR will do except cost you megathousands. If you are a beginner, you will find this camera easy to learn on. If you are a "prosumer", you will find a full set of features to enhance your creativity. The zoom is very good,...

Not a toy or a pocket camera. It is a substantial instrument. If you want to carry a camera around Wallyworld all day, this might not be the one for you. Some reviews have mentioned digital noise at over ISO400. I haven't seen much of it, and what...

Excellent Camera

This camera is awesome. It has plenty of user control features. You will be amazing by the clarity of the pictures when using the right settings. Auto mode is nice, but to really show off this cameras abilities you better be ready to learn at least the...

The picture quality is stunning. It is on par with pictures taken with my cousins Nikon D70 (dslr). It has a great set of manual controls and the zoom is outstanding. it has up to 84x zoom if set to 2mp!!!! That is just amazing. The wb controls are...

The only thing that I would like to see improved....maybe manual apeture settings and a longer battery life
