Panasonic Lumix DMC-SZ7 (Black) review

For such a small camera, the Panasonic Lumix DMC-SZ7 has a lot going for it.

The Panasonic Lumix DMC-SZ7 delivers fast shooting performance and very good photo and movie quality in a slim package with a wide, long lens.

The SZ7's battery life could be better, and its pictures probably won't thrill pixel peepers.

A speedy little camera with a long lens, the Panasonic Lumix DMC-SZ7 performs beyond its tiny price tag.

Panasonic Lumix DMC-SZ7

A slim camera with an impressive 10x zoom lens, the Panasonic Lumix DMC-SZ7 still struggles with image sharpness and detail at higher ISO settings.

Slim body. Long 10x zoom lens. 1080p video capture.

Soft images. Limited LCD viewing angle.

Performance and Conclusions On speed, the SZ7 delivers very respectable performance. It starts and shoots in 2 seconds, records a 0.2-second shutter lag, and can shoot a 4-shot burst of photos with 0.1 second between shots. It also has a standard...

Panasonic Lumix DMC-SZ7 Preview

Panasonic's SZ-series just added two new models to its lineup. First up, we have the LUMIX DMC-S7, which exclusively features a 14.1 megapixel MOS sensor, 1080i HD video recording, Light Speed Auto Focus (focus in 0.1seconds), 3D photo mode, and three...

Panasonic Lumix DMC-SZ7 Review

The Panasonic Lumix DMC-SZ7 is a smart, snazzy digital compact camera with a 14.1 megapixel MOS sensor, Leica DC Vario-Elmar lens which sports a 10x optical zoom (25-250mm in 35mm terms) and a bright 3 inch LCD screen. One of the main features of the...

Panasonic have a bit of a problem here. There's no denying that the Lumix DMC-SZ7 is a very pretty camera. It has a decent build quality but could probably come down to £200 for what it offers in features. Yes, it has 3D, yes it has diorama and yes it...

Panasonic Lumix DMC-SZ7 Review

Paying Rs. 13,000 for a camera that can hide unnoticeably in our pockets, while packing a 10X optical zoom Leica lens along with a 14 megapixel sensor seems like a great deal! This is definitely one of the slimmest and the lightest travel zoom cameras...

Very slim form factor for a 10X optical zoom, Leica Lens offers good sharp images, Simple user interface and menu navigation, Great ergonomics

Obvious JPG artefact at 100% magnification, Loss of detail at ISO 1600 and above, Video quality average at best

Panasonic Lumix SZ7

Good things come in small packages, so the saying goes. The Panasonic Lumix SZ7 is certainly small, but is it any good?

10x optical zoom, Easy to use, Small enough to take anywhere, Fast AF for snap-happy candids

No manual control, Noisy at higher ISO settings

Panasonic Lumix DMC-SZ7

The Panasonic Lumix SZ7 is the first in a new line of "stylish zoom" compacts. Its combination of a small body yet significant 10x optical zoom (25-250mm equivalent) lens sounds promising. Does the SZ7 balance up both style and substance? The SZ7...

10x zoom, small size, point-and-shoot ease of use

Poor viewing angle on LCD screen, point-and-shoot, poor battery life

The SZ7 delivers on its "stylish zoom" promise - it looks decent, takes good pictures for the most part and the sizeable 10x optical zoom is a credit to have in such a small body size.
