Pentax Optio H90 Review

The Pentax Optio H90 is a new budget compact camera with style, sporting a retro look developed under Pentax's new ‘functional beauty' concept. In addition to its unusual looks, the entry-level Pentax H90 offers a 12.1 megapixel image sensor, 5x...

Pentax's Optio H90 camera may indeed be 'no frills' at first glance. But in a world where we're overwhelmed with visual information, its boxy retro looks - resembling what would transpire on paper if you asked a child below the age of ten to draw a...

Optio H90

For many years now, the trend on this website has been to review the more expensive, cutting-edge cameras. Not only do those cameras capture my interest -- they are what the majority of DCRP readers are curious about, as well. Recently, I was reminded...

Pentax Optio H90 compact digital camera

If you're after a straightforward point-and-shoot camera that takes up as little space as possible, the Pentax Optio H90 is a great choice.

12.1MP with wide angle lens and 5x optical zoom

Auto settings in low light produce fuzzy unimpressive results

Pentax has come up with a really compelling compact camera with its Optio H90 that is far better than the price tag and plain styling suggest. With responsive controls and a pared down list of manual and auto functions, this is perhaps the best value...

Pentax Optio H90 compact camera

Pentax's Optio H90 combines minimalist "functional beauty" with a 12.1-megapixel sensor, 5x wide-zoom lens, HD Movies and advanced auto tracking AF and a Face AF system able to "see" up to 32 faces. In the Optio H90, neat design meets functionality and...

Good image quality at low sensitivities, compact design, simple to use, Price, AF system, lens

High ISO image noise, limited manual control, no optical viewfinder, underpowered flash

In the Optio H90, neat design meets functionality and usability at a great price. In short, the package as a whole works really well (and you could pay a lot more for these features from another maker) and is great value too, and although there are a...

Pentax Optio H90 review

The Pentax Optio H90 has a 2.7in display and weighs a scant 128g – comparable to a mobile phone. Unlike most compact cameras we've reviewed, its presence is barely felt when you've got it stashed in a handbag or backpack. In fact, the main giveaway is...

Pentax Optio H90 review

This minimalist point-and-shoot looks like something of a steal at this price. But where does it cut corners?

Stylish, user friendly and a decent performer – as long as the light conditions aren’t too demanding

Pentax Optio H90

This is a name that has been huge in lenses for longer than even I can remember. Here a small unobtrusive matt box that would not attract a second look. Will the images it takes move it up from the mundane to the yes please?

Daylight shots were good and even zoomed images seemed quite stable and free from shake. The scene modes I tried did not appear to change the shot taken greatly from Auto mode when taking a similar image. Most of what I printed were 3 and 5MP images...
