Ricoh G600 review

Can Ricoh's G600 possibly be as rugged as it looks?

Shockproof and freezeproof ; Good zoom and wide-angle lens ; Great controls ; Excellent battery life

Only waterproof to 1m ; Expensive

It's good in many ways, but lack of depth in the waterproofing and a high price mar it overall

Ricoh G600

Though the G600 might be better suited for on-the-job shooting than a life on the snow slopes, it's still not a bad camera.

Robust design ; Surprising amount of functions ; Clever battery feature

Not terribly sexy

Conclusion While it wears its industrial toughness on its sleeve, the G600 just isn't as sexy as Olympus' waterproof, shockproof couplet of the Tough Smart 1050SW and the Tough Lite 850SW. It's like Frank Bruno squaring off against James Bond: there's...

Ricoh G600

The Ricoh G600 screams “tough compact”. It's pretty large, and there's a chunky rubber-based casing around the camera, meaning that rather than going for the understated look, the Ricoh G600's design really embraces its tough credentials.
