Vivitar ViviCam 6200w

If you're after an affordable, robust underwater camera for the kids and don't really care about looks and size, the Vivitar ViviCam 6200w is a sensible buy.

Waterproof to 10 metres. Rubberised, shockproof body. Easy to use underwater.

No optical zoom. Focus free lens. Big and heavy.

This rugged underwater snapper can take your photography to new places. But does it sink like a stone or create a splash?

The Vivicam 6200W is terminator-tough and cheap enough to condemn disposable underwater cameras to the low-tech graveyard

The camera felt very sturdy in our hands and we weren't afraid of dropping it in the sand or experimenting with it while swimming among a group of surfers. Our final verdict -- the ViviCam 6200w didn't let us down. It is a robust camera which lives up...

Ruggedized Underwater Digital Camera

I purchased this to replace my Pentax Optio W10, I love that camera but it's kinda small and apparently a bit delicate because after barely a year that camera has some problems and is back to pentax for repairs. This camera screams heavy duty, the ...

Ruggedized, 30' underwater capability, large buttons

only two AA batteries

Excellent value. Shoot within its limits (it is a fixed focus lens) and it can produce excellent results. Use high capacity rechargable batteries and you are good to go. Use Manual white balance if you are scuba diving.

Waterproof below rated depth, compatible with SeaLife accesories

macro switch balky

Vivitar ViviCam 6200w

It is quite heavy for a camera, but find it easy to handle. I have had this camera a few years now and the photos are still great. I have not found the software a problem.

Takes great underwater photos

Vivitar ViviCam 6200w

Junk. Controls are tool close together, PC connectivity is non-existent. Since getting the camera, I have not been able to transfer a single image to my PC without using a separate card reader.

Kids haven't tore it up

Zoom might as well not be there since 1/2 the time you cannot get proper zoom level for the shot you want ; Buttons are stiff & too close together ; No optical zoom ; Cannot connect to PC to download images

Vivitar ViviCam 6200w

This camera is faulty , image quality is poor when sun reverbs on water and the video does not work properly when on water. Overexposed most of the time / whitish colours.
