Great until it died

I wish that I could deal with Newegg instead of Panasonic on the replacement issue. We'll see what happens. Still waiting......

Recorded DVDs have played on various other DVD players. Very easy to use. Only had 3 out of over 200 DVDs that couldn't record on. More of a DVD issue than a player issue, I think.

Video on the VHS tapes quit working after less than 2 months. Have contacted Panasonic and still awaiting their reply. Wouldn't record some home movies. They are not copyrighted so I'm not sure what the deal is.

Best one yet

The Sony rigs I bought that were suppossed to write DL discs never worked right. I took a chance and bought this unit because I have had good luck with Panasonic products in the past. So far, this unit does all it says it will do. Write DL discs...

Some of the features of this unit are specific to working in conjunction with other Panasonic equipment only. The setup is a little confusing, but manageable. The remote is just OK. The power on startup seems very slow.

Very Good

I've burned discs on DVD-R, DVD-RW& DVD+R DL. The -R & -RW discs worked on both DVD players & in my PC. When I tried using other media players like Power DVD, Nero Showtime or GOM player - they all worked with all discs. But I'm stumped as to the...

The picture quality is perfect. I watched a program on TV & burned it to DVD & couldn't tell the difference between live & burned.

DVD+R DL discs won't play on Windows Media Player 10 or on Windows XP Media Center.

IT WORKS!!

If you're wanting to take your vhs tapes and burn them to dvd's or cd's then I'd buy this in a heartbeat. It Works! I think thats the best review something can get, IT WORKS! And the disks are good quality. My dvd's always looked at least as good as...

It works as it says it will. It copies vhs to dvd, dvd to vhs with one touch. Easy to understand manual and menus. Hooked my JVC camcorder to it with super-v and audiocables and transferred my mini-dvd's to dvd with no problem at all...first time I...

If it had an astc tuner it would be perfect. I've only found one, an emerson, with all the same features and a tuner and the reviews were terrible.

Good recorder, ok player

Recording quality is good. Feature list is good. Playback quality is good, particularly the analog audio. Recording process is pretty easy. VHS plays back over component, which is nice (not so on my older JVC combo unit)

Feels' flimsy, particularly the DVD tray. Remote is dedicated to recording functions & playback functions suffer somewhat (no dedicated 'subtitle' button for instance). Slow to respond to eject, drive switching commands, can be frustrating @ first.
