When you know you newegg

I originally was going to buy what I thought was a Toshiba equivalent of this JVC JVC DR-MV150B, and almost did until I read a review that claimed the Toshiba did not have a tracking adjustment...which in my case was needed for VHS tapes recorded on an...

None yet. Hope for long and defect free operation

DR-MV150B died just over 1 yr

BUY A SQUARETRADE WARRANTY LIKE I DID AND YOU CAN REPLACE IT WITH A NEW ONE LIKE I WILL. I may get this again if I can find more good reviews as it has a lot of good things about it... I bought it when they first cam out.. :(

Many.. Upconversion, one-touch recording, HDMI & optical outputs

Mine may have been a dud when new but it was cumbersome to set up titles and chapters... I use Studio 10 / 11 etc. and this was very hard in comparison to that, although I know it is a PC format vs TV

Aswesome in a package

This unit impressed me enough that my media center has one along with my media convesion business having one. Will record to any media but a DL, but will record flawlessly to any other media you throw into it. Only thing it wont record to that a TiVO...

Straightforward for the most part, self explanatory for those tchnically challenged, records to all but DL media

Some items that are top menu on other units are a few layers down on this unit

A Good Choice in a Shrinking Pool

This is an excellent choice for anyone with a large VHS collection who wants to transfer their favorite old TV shows or home movies to DVD format without having to mess with a computer, and for anyone who does not have a DVR or other Tivo-like recorder...

I purchased this for my mother, who is not exactly tech-savvy and is still enamored of the VHS format, hoping to drag her into the 21st Century. Being unable to find a new VHS recorder with a tuner for her, and hoping to kill 2 birds with one stone, I...

My only cons with this unit, and the reason I did not give it 5 eggs is that the programming and menu options are not as intuitive as they could be and the instructions could definitely be clearer in some places. I was able to help her, over the phone,...

DVD/VHS Combo Recorder

This was a replacement for an LG product that I had two of and did not make it past 2 years. Hope this one goes longer.

This player is quite to run and easy to program. This is a great price as I bought on at a store locally and cost over $100 more

I wish the remote would adjust the sound volume, as I have to have the LG TV remote to change volume...Also the addition of automatic clock set and daylight savings feature would be nice. However, that is not worth additional cost

Reliable replacement for a VCR

Compared to Panasonic's DMR-EZ line (and some hard-drive or TIVO-like machines), the JVC machine is very simple: there's no access to the menu system while recording, no trailing viewing (watching the recorded part of program while it's still...

Reliable; menus are simple though poorly organized in places

Limited features; sometimes locks up while recording a copy-protected program

Excellent DVD VHS recorder with digital tuner

The switch from ananlog to digital & HD TV channels sent me searching for ne ways to record favorite shows. Both my LG 787 and samsung AR650 do a nice job but limit me to maximum of 6hrs on 1 blank DVD.

Up to 12 hours or HDTV recording capability via DVD and VHS decks. Under $200

Software bug(s) may require unplugging power cord to restore functionality

JVC DR-MV150B DVD/VCR Combo

It did not take me long to connect this equipment to my tv. The reception is very commendable especially when using hdmi cable. You can appreciate it more when you have all those old vhs to play and see on your hd tv. For a reasonable price, it is nice...
