Any Help?

I was wondering if anyone has heard if the device would work with the Seagate Barracuda 7200.11 ST31000340AS 1TB 7200 RPM SATA 3.0Gb/s Hard Drive? If anyone can help leave a review on here and let me know. Thanks.

Works as advertised

Make sure to read the manufacturer web site for instructions. For example, Western Digital brand hard drives are not recommended by Mvix for this device.

Great product which can play all your DIVX or XVID AVI movies on your HDTV, supporting 480p, 720p, or 1080i if using component cables. The quality difference between 1080i and 480p is noticeable, even though the source AVI data is not High Definition...

Mivx 5000r doesn't play DVD ISOs

This is a great product in concept, beats building a media center pc and is cheaper. But obviously the code on the 5000r is inferior to the higher-priced 760HD. I hope that wasn't intentional, because if you just need composite or component video and...

Of the few DVD ISO images it did play the picture was excellent. As usual NewEgg servcie was great

In early Dec 2007 I bought the more expensive Mivx 760HD. I installed a 500GB Seagate HD and copied to it numerous DVD ISO images from US / Euro commerical DVDs, and DVDs created from TV with my Pioneer DVR HD ; All played in every DVD player I have...

Love it

Buy one

It played just about everything I put onto it and the free 80gb hard drive was a huge plus, although I'll more then likely upgrade later down the road. I strongly recommend this to anyone who has a lot of video content they'd like to play on their TV...

Some AVIs don't play, but I believe it had something do with the audio codec used to make the video, but that's not too much of a con, that's really the maker of the videos fault

Did i get a bad one?

Over all if this worked like it sould have for me it would be a great investement but seeing how it is what it is i do not recomend

It Displays Pictures fine and it also plays AVIs well but thats about it

I dont know if i got a half built one or what the deal is here. When i first got the harddrive instaled and formated i draged over some avi, mkv, Divx, and mp4 files. The Mkvs dont show up, it locks up when i try to play mp4s, the avis and divx worked...

Excellent product

Too bad the version with the FM transmitter is no longer availible (5000U). However you do get the 5.1 audio on this model that the 5000U did not have. Files compressed with the Divx 6 codec work great with this unit. Many other file types have worked...

Very straight forward operation ; Easy firmware updating ; Good compatibility with many formats ; Compact size ; Carrying case and 110v/220v - NTSC/PAL operation is also great for the traveler ; Great customer support

The remote is a somewhat non-intuitive but I do not consider that a significant negative

Excellent for what it was meant to do.

Some people mention that the stand falls off easily. Make sure you are installing it properly. It slides in and then locks in place but requires a little force to make it lock. You can actually here it snap in place. Have not had any problems with it...

Easy to use and setup. No problems with it so far. Excellent movie quality. Quiet operation. So far I have used VOB, Divx and Xvid with it. No problems. Firmware updated without a hitch

No wireless capabilities but I knew that before buying it. The remote buttons are little small but I can live with it

Mvix MV-5000R Great product

Installation of HD was a breeze, so swapping out in order to maintain full ISO files would not be too much of an issue.

Small size, plenty of options for video out, can navigate from LCD or TV display. ISO's (of course) played fine but took up a tremendous amount of room. Conversion to MPEG4 caused consistent "stepping/slow frame rate on play back". Conversion to DivX6...

Have to disconnect USB from computer to use unit as a player. As soon as USB connection is made, unit drops in to hard drive mode and stays there until disconnected
