The RDR-HX1095B is a superb product, I use it as well as a RDR-HX870B which I bought earlier. They both offer excellent picture quality when used as receivers, recorders or players. The Photo Album facility is particularly useful for storing and...

Rather complicated to learn to use, the book runs to about 170 pages, but having learned how to use this product, I am very pleased with it. There are no other bad points that I have found.

Stylish design and lots of features plus great amount of hard drive space.

The ability to adjust the start and end times of a timer setting would have been nice whilst setting the timer, instead you have to set it then edit it afterwards which is a bit of a long winded way of doing things. Also having a few intermittent...

Excellent value for money (for the price I paid) - huge disk, great picture quality and integrates with Bravia TV well. Typical excellent Sony build quantity.

The interface/menu screens can sometimes look a little odd, and are not as good looking as those on the Bravia TV we have - other than that nothing bad (apart from it being discontinued and superceded by another model!)

Quality of picture. Hard disk size. Indexing system.

Channel guide layout is messy & can be hard to find programs. Would prefer layout similar to the one on my Bravia TV.

Easy set-up (helps having a Sony Bravia TV though).

For some reason, on shutting down, sometimes it "sticks" on the AV channel & doesn't return to the TV. (May have something to do with having both SCART and HDMI connections).

Reliable - previous recorder (Philips 3330H had a tendency to freeze). High capacity. Good editing facilities - easier & qucker when compared with Philips.

No time shift video bar (as with the Philips). Chase play is a poor substitute as it depends on the machine being in record mode - no good for recording the unexpected! Title menu screen options range from mediocre to awful. Title menu not visible on...
