Great Picuture Quality both Live signal and Recordings

The picture far outweighs the only disappointment. I have owned many many recorders since first on the market back in 2002. This is by far, the best there is. Excellent Quality, built sollid and the picture (most important) is much sharper.

S-Video Input allows higher quality recordings

No pass through technology =when you shut off your recorder, the sound and picture (to your TV) also shut off. Pass through on other models /brands will allow the sound and picture to conitnue. Only disappointment

Finally! A DVD/VCR that works right!

Shopped around, and while Newegg.com did'nt have the lowest price, with free shipping and no tax I came out ahead of some other deals on the net.

With the exception of Blu-Ray,played everything I threw at it.

Manual is complex, even for me, reminds me of an old VCR manual from the 1980's.

Not Up to Par

Returned the unit because it would not recognize any of the DVD's that I tried to record to. Tried at least 5 different types. The only error message provided was a red circle with a line through it that appeared on the TV screen after the device gave...

Great Overall Recorder!

This player did everything I asked of it compared to the other major name brand at a similar price point. Avoid getting audio out of sync issues and pick up this Toshiba model instead.

I bought this unit to replace another brand's unit that was constantly recording DVD's from old family VHS tapes and the audio was always out of sync! I couldn't be happier with this unit compared to the other similarly priced brand available.

The only cons I can think of are: The remote has a short range of sight and is a bit boxey, the user manual is a bit complex/arranged poorly, and lastly the VCR when rewinding doesn't slow much, it broke one of my old VHS tapes. An easy fix, but worth...

Great combo

The menus are much easier to understand than the previous DVD recorder I owned. The picture quality is great and I really like the fact that it will upconvert to 1080p and that it will play DIVX files. It plays the DIVX files without freezing that...

Upconverts to 1080i and 1080p, plays DIVX files, writes DVDs quickly, easy operation.

Exactly what I was wanting

It plays burned AVI and DIVX files. That's exactly what I was wanting. I didn't want to convert every single AVI file that I had in my computer just to play MPEG's on the DVD player. This player works great for this. I haven't tested the burn process,...

I haven't found any Cons. None to note.

Toshiba D-VR610

I say about the Toshiba D-VR610..Enjoy the convenience of VCR and DVD playback options without the need for two units. The D-VR610 not only saves space, but also offers 1080p up conversion of DVD content via HDMI to near HD picture quality, and makes...
