DJI Mini 3 Review

Good-looking 4K30 video ; Support for vertical video and upward gimbal tilt ; 12MP stills in Raw DNG or JPG ; 38-minute flights with standard battery ; 51-minute extended battery available ; 249g build for registration-free flight ; Built-in GPS and...

Omits obstacle detection ; Limited to one color profile ; Doesn't support Hyperlapse or ActiveTrack

The DJI Mini 3 is a lightweight drone with nearly 40 minutes of battery life and a clever 4K30 video camera that shoots landscape and vertical video, making it an appealing option for dedicated creators and newbies alike.

DJI Mini 3 review: Vertical video for less

The DJI Mini 3 takes some of the best parts of the Mini 3 Pro with a price not much more than the Mini 2

, which starts at $449, or the DJI Mini SE, which is just $299. But if you’re looking for a great balance between features and price, the Mini 3 is definitely a drone to consider.

DJI Mini 3 review: Affordable yet capable drone for first-time flyers

The DJI Mini 3 makes a more affordable alternative to the Mini 3 Pro for easy, regulation-safe flying

Sub-249g weight means regulation-friendly flying ; Two controller options ; Long flight time

Buffeted by light wind ; No object avoidance sensor ; No subject tracking

If you’re prepared to sacrifice the object avoidance system of more expensive drones like the DJI Mini 3 Pro, the DJI Mini 3 makes an attractive choice for beginner pilots with its 248g take-off weight ensuring trouble-free flying in most areas. It...

DJI Mini 3 review: earn your wings

How to fly on a budget - is DJI's new Mini 3 worth it?

Incredible battery life ; Decent camera performance ; Great value for money ; Lightweight and easy to fly

No front or rear obstacle detection ; No Active Track auto-follow mode ; No D-Log/D-Cinelike video modes

A superb entry-level offering that’s a perfect buy for first-time drone pilots

DJI Mini 3 review

Looking for your first drone and want one that's free from as many rules and regulations as possible? The Mini 3 should fit the bill.

Portrait camera mode ; Good photo & video quality ; Long flight time

No front or rear obstacle sensors ; Can’t track subjects, except in QuickShots ; No Hyperlapse or slo-mo

The Mini 3 loses quite a few of the Mini 3 Pro’s features, but is also quite a bit cheaper and is a good upgrade from the Mini 2. If you don’t care about the better video quality or vertical shooting, then save money and find a discounted Mini 2.
