Awesome DVD Player!

It could of been made better, and the hard drive should definantly be upgradeable. Lasonic needs to get off their *** and make a new firmware for this (New Codecs, Ability to use 500 GB Hard Drives, etc.) I was planning on buying 2 more of these, but...

If this dvd player had blueray and hd-dvd capabilities, it would quite possibly be the best dvd player in the world! I recommend this DVD player to anybody who knows enough about avi files

Sometimes videos can get out of sync, i think thats due to the codecs in the dvd player, this dvd player's firmware is upgradeable but i think lasonic forgot all about this dvd player that they just don't care about it anymore ; Don't try buying a...

Returned 2 of these

Newegg's Memphis warehouse does not pack their shipments very well. All they did both times was slap a shipping label on the original box without packing it in another carton with cushioning. Since the original boxes did not have much styrofoam...

Good concept. Nice if it worked

The first one I received would not open the DVD tray. The remote control partially worked - would not turn the player on or off. Got an RMA from Newegg and the second one was worsr than the first. After inserting various store-bought DVDs and CDs, it...

Good idea - poor execution

A good concept poorly executed.

Two bad units in a row (with two different issues) really disappointed me.

Awesome machine

The problems mentioned in the other reviews seem to be fixed with the one I bought, maybe updated firmware. It does sort the movies alphabetically and allows 15 chars for the filename.

Great price. plays most anything. Usual awesome Newegg service

Poor remote, you must point EXACTLY at player (I did remove the clear sticker). Easy fix: use a universal remote

bad price for it just being OK

Ability to load movies onto a HD, and be able to play them is extremely conventient, and saves money on buying alot of blank dvd's.

First of all, it came to me broke, the dropdown door for the HD had a thing broke off, so it was not really on.

Functional, but weak menu and remote

Plays Divx/Xvid/MPEG/MP3 from a removable 250GB USB2 HD.

The menu is very basic, truncates names (8 chars maybe?), and sorts only by date - NO alpha.

Guys, this player rocks!

Dissing Menu system? Let me tell you that I have been through my share of DiVX players and week attempts at file browsing.

The little fan on the back gave out after 6 months.

Guys, this player rocks!

When Lasonic adds 802.11 support to this player it will be great.

Dissing Menu system? Let me tell you that I have been through my share of DiVX players and week attempts at file browsing. You do have to sacrifice long file names and the file sort by date a week, but Lasonics file browser is the fastest ; Dissing...

The little fan on the back gave out after 6 months. Its a standard chipset fan, so I replaced it myself
