This is a good recorder but there's some great competition about, meaning this Toshiba doesn't do enough to be considered an all-star all-rounder

A solid recorder let down by a lack of key features

It gets off to a good start with the inclusion of Freeview+, which brings series recording into the equation (not found on its predecessor, the RD-97DT).

Having searched the high street for a competitive recorder, I settled on this unit to match my Toshiba LCD.

Having just got my own flat and having become used to my parents Sky Plus box, I decided I needed the convience of Sky plus in my life without subscription. I bought one of these a few months back and it's been as good as Sky+ - simple to use and ideal...

Not had this long and am really enjoying it. I've not had a issue with it's opperation and 250GB capacity means even with all the other halves soaps i've still got nowhere near filling it. Overall recommended.

I bought this as a first step into the HDD/DVD recorder market, while most features were OK and picture quality was good etc. there was one major flaw: it is impossible to change the channel using the EPG without recording!!
