Consumer review (productreview.com.au)

Good

True to Toshiba's reputation for video quality, the image quality from this player is superb with beautifully rendered colours and crisp, sharp details. This unit seems to be very much a "garbage in, garbage out" player whereby pristine quality discs...

Beautiful picture quality. Support for a range of different types of media.

Build quality not as solid as older "Made in Japan" models

Nice functional unit that looks good with a slimline design. It is easy to use and I have not had any problems with it playing DVDs. Good, reliable unit.

Great picture and sound quality.

Doesn't have features like zoom.

This is a solid player that won't disappoint. The audio playback on cds is far superior to units in a comparable price bracket. Despite mine being labelled 'Region 4' on the box, it does in fact play Region 1 discs without a hitch.

Having invented DVD, Toshiba have long been recognised as leaders in this technology. This player is their foray into the budget end of the market and for the price, it certainly does not disappoint.

It's perhaps a little more sensitive than some DVD players to marked/scratched discs, which can be a bit annoying if you're in the habit of renting DVDs - especially kids dvds which always seem to get really hammered in the rental market

If you can still find one this is definately a unit worth considering. Connectivity is exceptional however no 5.1 coax. Digital Coax and Optical Only and RCA stereo. Component Video is a true component which produces some of the best colour I've seen....

Able to reproduce audio quality exceptionally well. Picture quality magnificent. Plays dvd+r and dvd-r

Could do with a little more functionality relating to SVCD playback such as zoom but hey, why would you want to watch a lesser picture quality format anyway?
