AUGEN EBA701

I'm really enjoying this Augen ereader. I'm glad I bought it.

Using as an ebook reader and playing avi files. I love that it's not a touchscreen. I tested the wireless internet and it works fine. Battery last a long time.

None so far, but I researched and knew what I was getting before purchasing.

JUNK with a capital J!!!!!

New Egg, you need to throw the stock you have of this unit in the trash can and stop abusing your customers selling garbage like this!!!!!

MINUS 2000000000000000000000000000

More than you have room for!!!!! First, reader doesn't support Adobe DRM, so you can't use it for a reader except for the free "classics" they give you. Unit is now orphaned since the "manufacturer/importer" has gone belly up!!!!! I can't believe...

Addendum: Jack of all trades, master of one

I am really trying to love this device, but it really only does a couple of things before you feel like having another experience, like an old friend that you can only invite out for coffee. It is an e-reader that can be read at night and on the can,...

Latest Calibre software really helps manage this baby with RSS feeds and eBooks ; Decent battery life ; Color screen brightness and text clarity ; Uh, only $45

Hmm, this is the list of EVERYTHING else, but I'll save you the effort to prioritize ; No support for hyperlinks, whatsoever ; Navigation / bookmarking controls are severely lacking, unless you really like reading everything cover to cover ; DRM/ebook...

Easy to Use

For $50, it's a steal. My mom isn't very tech savvy, so she wanted something very simply. She's pleased that it has the little keyboard and thumbstick for easy navigation. She can read ebooks easily, but the small font with no option to zoom makes...

Purchased for an older lady without much tech experience. It powers on very quickly, has an incredibly simple interface, and the web browser is surprisingly snappy at loading mobile pages. It is able to read many formats and play music, movies and view...

You have to enable wi-fi each time you turn it on. There's no Zoom in the browser. You can't rename browser favorites. For some of the ebooks (epub format), the formatting was not recognized - so they kind of show as 1 long paragraph, with the title of...

Jack of all trades, master of one

I wasn't even shopping for an eReader and the refurb price was too good to pass up as a xmas gift. What I found is that its features are kludgy and would frustrate a child or relaxing to an elderly person and because anyone that is tech savvy can...

-Bright 800x480 color LCD screen -Wide variety of eBook formats, plus RSS feeds with Calibre -Plays movies in mp4, mpeg1 and avi formats -SD card and USB removable drive options -Calibre is a MUST, then it really rocks -Price point (refurb under $50!!)...

-Kinda bulky with the leather case -All eBook formats take some tweaking to look normal -Can't view embedded pictures -Not for the technology challenged, too many compromised features to satisfy, esp. navigation -Abysmal documentation -WiFi pretty much...
