Kobo Touch review: Kobo Touch

Kobo Touch

The ; is a compact, lightweight, and affordable e-ink e-reader with touch-screen navigation, built-in Wi-Fi, an expansion slot for additional memory, and good battery life (over one month with wireless off). Also, the Kobo e-book store is integrated...

The Kobo's user interface isn't as slick as that of the Nook Touch, and its performance and overall smoothness could be improved. It lacks audio support (no MP3, no audiobooks) and the ability to lend out titles to friends. The magazine and newspaper...

Though the Kobo eReader Touch Edition doesn't quite measure up to the Nook Touch or the Kindle, it's a respectable and affordable touch-screen e-reader with a lot of pluses.

Kobo Touch Edition review

Does Kobo's new eReader have what it takes to compete with Amazon's Kindle?

e-ink touchscreen ; Built in wi-fi ; Great hardware

80's cultural references ; Best sellers more expensive ; Kid-friendly featues

Good for its price, just don't get it for PDFs

I bought this e-reader for school, as most of the documents that I read are in PDF form. After all of my research, I decided that this was the best solution, because multiple reviews had mentioned that it was pretty good at reading PDFs. THIS IS NOT...

Small Great battery life nicely designed device

Horrible at reading PDFs

Do not buy

Don't buy such a low quality product. Look at kindles or nooks or something else.

great battery life, responsive screen.

very easily broken screen. Customer service is pretty bad. After a year just about everyone's fails to turn on from failed software and hardware.

Customer service sucks ...

My Kobo touch broke after 11 months of light use, I emailed Kobo and they promised to send me a replacement one, however, I waited for nearly a week and nothing happened until I contacted them again. When I asked them how I can get the cost shipping...

It's not bad when it works

The micro USB port tends to get loose with normal use after a while ... and their customer support sucks

A great eReader

For just $99 this is a fantastic purchase for reading on the go!

- The display is fantastic! The Kobo Touch uses the latest e-ink technology. There is no glare even in direct sunlight. - Amazing battery life! I am a fairly light reader so I regularly get 2 months of use off of a single charge. - The eReader is...

- With Borders bankrupt the main brick & mortar company selling these has gone away. However, with everything moving online and the wonderful support offered already this has not been a problem!

Great eReader

Great eReader! I've had mine for about 6 months or so and absolutely love it. I've had no issues with it and the team that's responsible for the software do update the firmware routinely to fix any bugs that have since appeared. Page turns are quick...

I've had to do a hard reset once after a firmware update where I lost a lot of sensitivity on the touch screen. After the reset, everything was working just fine.
