Garmin Dakota 10

The Garmin Dakota 10 is a smaller version of Garmin's successful Oregon models. The Dakotas appear poised to replace the eTrex series, bringing all of the Oregon's touch screen goodness while retaining the eTrex's small form factor, light weight and...

Highly recommended. The Dakota series are the first touch screen units I've found suitable for fixed-mount, non-powered use (e.g., mountain bikes). It will also appeal to those looking to economize, or folks desiring a lightweight or more compact unit...

Great like unit

First hand held GPS. I'm happy with it. I just wish Garmin wouldn't nickel and dime us.

Touch screen, lite weight, easy to use, 20 hrs battery, color screen. 850mb memory. Perfect for Geo-caching. It will give location, terrain, difficulty, hints and description

The unit can do birds eye view ( $30 a year) ; But Garmin will not release the subscription for it. Price of maps are just way, way to high.( like most of them)

Good, easy, small, lightweight

This is small, lightweight, and easy to use. We bought this to do paperless geocaching. We love how we can add in the coordinates easily thru the computer. However, you have to hook up to the computer to delete coordinates and this is cumbersome.

Garmin Dakota 10

Downloading geocaches and entering waypoints extremely easy. Extremely accurate. The maps is good I just wish it came with street maps. But they can be purchased. It also says you can download maps from google but I haven\'t figured it out yet.

Excellent GPS hardware + software package, with a few small weaknesses

I wanted a simple, inexpensive way to add GPS functions to my Palm Treo 650 phone/PDA, and the GPS 10 Bluetooth receiver + Garmin's Que software seemed to fit the bill. For me, this setup was preferable to a stand-alone GPS unit for the car since I...

Adds GPS Capability to Any Bluetooth PDA

I've now been using this GPS with my iPAQ for 8 months, and have an update to my original review.

Accurate, easy to use, voice prompts, local information, good battery life

Possible software compatibility issues leading to my PDA freezing on some occasions

I never thought it could be so good!

A friend of mine had a Garmin Street Pilot 2610 in his car and I had found it to be amazing in its features and definitely very useful for someone that travels a lot like I do. I got lost in Ottawa a few weeks thereafter and could not get to a business...

Amazing: never get lost again! Works like a charm

Small Buttons on PDA difficult while driving. Other Maps for the world are expensive

Amazing device -- Great Maps, Great Software, Great Unit! Wow!

I recently decided to get a GPS solution for my car. I'm a computer consultant, so I travel a lot. I used to use Microsoft Streets and Trips to create a map of where I was going that day, but, there isn't exactly any easy way to flexibly change the...

Great maps, great GPS reception, easy to use software that is POWERFUL and full featured

Lack of bundled mounts... But, you aren't forced to buy mounts that aren't
