Review: Garmin Edge 800

Does Garmin's latest bike computer spew too much data? If you're a geeky cyclist, the answer is, "hell no!"

Quick, easy to set up. Bright color touchscreen. Intuitive user interface. World-class navigation functionality and oodles of performance metrics

We’re living in a golden age of touchscreens. Should this one have a pinch-and-zoom function

Garmin Edge 800

The Garmin Edge 800 is Garmin's latest cycling GPS, updating recent models with a touchscreen interface, and the ability to load Garmin custom maps and BirdsEye imagery. Having used both touch screen and traditional devices extensively on my mountain...

Garmin Edge 800

Well designed and logical navigation system, accurate, good battery life

Touch response slow, sluggish at finding satellites

After using the Edge 800 everyday it has become something we are now nearly totally dependent on. Going into London, we will always stick the exact address into it just before we leave, so we can cycle straight to the door. For this kind of cycling,...

Garmin Edge 800 GPS Cycle Computer

A cycling computer should be perceived not as foreign object but as functional component in the cockpit of a modern racing machine. This was one of the guidelines in the development of the Edge 800. Particularly appealing to technophile mountain bikers...

Fantastic Cycling GPS

Virtual partner is a great training tool, the elevation graph is nice to have to know when you should conserve energy for upcoming climbs and the turn-by-turn directions is really nice especially when you don't have the time to focus on the GPS

The screen brightness could be a little better and the resolution is a bit poor given cel phones that have a much better screen resolution

Garmin Edge 800

Good all round GPS for a bike, good to have 1.50000 maps

poor instructions on how to use and get the best - can be difficult to work out how to use it to its full potential

Garmin Edge 800

The size, how easy it is to use, the virtual training partner is good to race against. You can even get hold of free O/S maps as well.

Only the expense, but you soon forget about that.

Garmin Edge 800

Does everything I would wish, good screen size & easy touchscreen.

You really need a screen protector. I, like others found it scratches way too easily.
