Garmin iQue 3600

A built-in GPS differentiates Garmin's entry into the Palm OS PDA market.

If you often travel in new areas, Garmin's iQue 3600 is a handy single-device combination. Use it as a regular PDA when you're not out and about, but when you need directional help, flip up the back panel with confidence.

Garmin iQue 3600 review

Getting lost just got a lot harder. Garmin has started shipping its long-awaited iQue 3600, a Palm-based organizer with an integrated Global Positioning System (GPS) receiver. Load up your maps and connect to a few satellites--you are found. Though the...

Fast processor; large, high-res screen; integrated GPS receiver; includes extensive, detailed maps.

Disappointing battery life; minimalist software bundle (aside from the maps).

Despite its poor battery life, this Garmin is a powerful PDA and an accomplished GPS device.

Garmin iQue 3600 Palm OS PDA with GPS

GPS accessories for PDAs have been quite popular for the past few years. Now Garmin, a well known GPS manufacturer has introduced the first PDA with an integrated GPS. The iQue 3600 runs Palm OS 5, has a high res + 320 x 480 color display, an SD slot...

The GPS related application bundle is the signature of the Garmin iQue 3600. While these applications provide a wide variety of functions to help GPS users map out routes and follow directions, they seem scattered, not streamlined. You often find...

Garmin Ique 3600 PDA

Somewhere between a PDA based system and an "all in one" unit the Garmin Ique 3600 is trying to find its identity, but deep down its a reliable router and not too bad looking.

Great Support, Excellent Product

All in all, the 3600 is a versatile, durable, and intuitive product that will have your friends saying - "Oooo, how much is that?" It's also great when you meet a girl from Columbia, and you can ask her to point out were her home is, near Pensilvania...

I use my 3600 every day and have for well over a year. I use it to find client's homes and get hotel and restaurant phone numbers while on the road so I can make reservations. Of course, it knows the directions to the hotel already, even told us what...

Getting used to unlocking maps can be frustrating (especially if you have multiple Garmin products) Customer service helped out, but on two separate occasions I was on hold for 25 minutes after talking with the operator. To be fair, a couple times I...

A Versatile Workhorse

You'll pay as much for a "brick" unit that will only be useful stuck on the dash of your car--and get a fully-featured palm that's easily pocketable as well. It is just as home navigating through downtown areas on foot in the palm of your hand as it is...

I got this unit when they first came out. I really like the added versatility of the palm/GPS combo and how the GPS's navigation features tie into the contacts feature of the palm OS. The screen is nice and large. I've gotten accuracy within 3 feet...

My battery life isn't very long and the thickness is about 70% thicker when compared to my palm one Tungsten E--but that is mostly due to the larger screen and the GPS antenna which has to fold down on the back. The screen can be hard to read in direct...

Garmin iQue 3600

Battery life is 2-3 hours using the GPS and backlight. Built-in GPS antenna is adequate. Unit is loaded with features and you need the manual to learn to use it efficiently. The auto friction mount is excellent. You have to use the unit on a regular...
