Never assume

I was on the fence about buying this unit. I already owned a Garmin nüvi 765T that worked perfectly...but Garmin wanted $89.00 for lifetime map updates. When I saw this little number marked down I figured "hey for another 40 bucks I can get an updated...

Works fine. Free map updates. Option to add safety camera locations

No bluetooth (doh!)

Good Buy 4 1/2 Eggs

Overall a good buy. I have a garmin myself and have always been happy with it so I got this one. Works nicely. Nice black color. Thin. If you can, get a model with out lifetime traffic. But go Garmin.

Good value. Bought as a shell shocker. Christmas gift for the girlfriend. Gets her from her house to mine so I can't ask for much. Lifetime map updates is where this thing gains some value. The map layout is aesthetically pleasing to me. This thing...

If I could, I would take half an egg off for the ads that support the lifetime traffic updates. Sure, she will probably never use it and you can turn the feature off, but I'm sure most human beings would rather pay an extra few bucks than have ads...

Update to my 11/30 Review

I returned my original unit to Newegg and had to pay the return postage. Garmin tech support told me that if it bad from day one to contact them and they would pay the return postage. Lesson learned. BTW, the 11/17 review by Ed is a different Ed.

Fast Start-up

My first one, which crashed 4 times in the first day and had a bad touch screen, was replaced. This one only crashed once, which on battery power. Tech support had me re-install the software and it has been OK since. This touch screen is a lot more...
