Garmin Nuvi 270

Well, it seems Garmin heard our cries, as the company has released a new family of Nuvi devices that are more wallet-friendly. The Garmin Nuvi 200 series includes three models: the Nuvi 200 ($428.56) with preloaded maps of the United States and Puerto...

The Garmin Nuvi 200 boasts a compact design and is easy to use. It offers accurate directions and some nice tools for the traveler.

Though the Nuvi 200 is more affordable than other models in the series, we wish the price was slightly lower based on the included feature set.

The Garmin Nuvi 200 series offers drivers and travelers a more budget-friendly version of the popular portable navigation devices, but we think the price is still slightly high for what you get.

Garmin Nüvi 270 Review

When my son decided that he wanted to start his own self employed carpentering business, I knew that he would be traveling around the state a lot, often to places he had never been before, so I decided to buy him the Nuvi 270 for a congratulatory...

Garmin nuvi 270 review

The Garmin nuvi 270 is the transatlantic offering in Garmin's new entry-level nuvi lineup. Equipped with a 3.5" screen, the nuvi 270 includes pre-loaded maps of the U.S., Canada and Europe (see coverage map below). Other units in the 200 series have...

Failed Unit

I would likely purchase another Garmin product because they handled the exchange so well.

Nice large screen.

Failed after 6 months. Garmin did replace the unit within 3 weeks. Apparently heat was the problem that damaged the circuitry. Also the suction cup keeps falling off the windshield. About every week I have to reattach it. Not a big problem, but annoying.

Nice device...somewhat disapointed

I have contacted Garmin tech support to see if they will help with the update to current maps.

This is an excellent product, particularly considering it comes preloaded with both North America and Europe maps. This feature alone makes this a good deal if you need that area coverage. Very easy to use, bright, readable screen, and good features

The biggest drawback on this unit, is that it was manufactured/loaded nearly a year ago (inventory clearance?), and the internal maps are outdated as received ; The North American map is dated Apr 07, and needs a $79 update from Garmin. The European...

Good Handheld GPS

This was a great purchase. The cons are minor and just an aspect of GPS functionality. I haven't used many other modern GPS devices, but this one is well thought out and well designed. I would definitely recommend it to anyone, and this model is...

I just returned from a visit to Italy and used this Nuvi in Verona, Venice, Florence and Milan. The device worked very well where it could obtain a signal (see cons). In open skies, it could get a signal within a couple of minutes. Battery life is good...

On planes and on trains, it could not obtain satellites very well, except near the window. It also did not work at all in between tall buildings on narrow streets/alleys, especially in Venice. I didn't expect it to though, honestly, and I also expected...

My experience is that Garmin came with old maps. I thought ok, I would get free updates. But I got the free update only for Europe City Navigator. After 2 weeks from the purchase Garmin started to display a message indicating that I have more than 1...

It comes with old maps. When you e-mail to PCNation or Garmin to get a support nobody answers e-mails. Sometime it takes couple of minutes while Garmin finds satellites (even on open air).

Im glad I went with this small no frills model ... I really dont miss the more expensive "extras" Ive used it successfully in North America, South America with no issues (had to buy South American maps from third party). Plan to use Europe maps soon...

easy to use ... not many bells and whistles, but low price. I was worried Id miss the QERTY keyboard on more expensive models, but it hasnt been a big deal at all. Best value GPS available IMO. Fits nicely in my shirt pocket. No antennae to break off.

routes are sometimes not great (even a bit nonsensical), but no worse than other GPS Ive owned. Hard to see screen in bright daylight.

Fantastic GPS

Get it, you'll like it! Hey Garmin! Why don't you give me a discount on some software for it for all the free advertising I just did for you?

It has worked perfectly from out of the box and for the last 5000 miles from Miami, FL to Texas to Oklahoma flying to Sacramento, CA and all around that area, to Arkansas and then up to Boston through Virginia Beach and back down to D.C. It's never...

None that I can think of
