Garmin Montana 650

The Garmin Montana 650 is one of three models in Garmin's newest handheld series. With it's huge 4” touchscreen, I had initially thought the Montanas were targeted to the motorized crowd (ATV's, etc.), but after spending over a month with one, I'm...

Large, bright screen ; Extensive customization options ; Garmin’s best dual-use unit ; 5MP geotagging camera ; Li-ion battery (relatively long life and you don't have to open the battery cover to recharge) ; Much quicker access to menu items than on...

Relatively bulky and heavy ; Additional maps and mount required to make best highway use of device ; No carabiner clip

The Montana series has some great features – a larger and somewhat brighter touchscreen that can rotate between portrait and landscape orientations, an interface that makes it much easier to access settings and switch functions, and a dashboard that...

Garmin Nuvi 650 GPS 4.3" Widescreen Receiver Review

The Garmin Nuvi 650 GPS 4.3" Receiver is one of my favorite GPS devices for its ability to simplify even the most complicated driving routes. Read this review to find out more.

Garmin nuvi 650 review

Step up to the nuvi 660 to get an integrated traffic receiver, Bluetooth for hands-free cell phone use, along with an FM transmitter to stream music, directions and phone calls through your car stereo speakers. The nuvi 670 adds European maps to the...

Garmin Nuvi 650 Lowest Prices

The lowest price I found for a Garmin Nuvi 650 was online. This seems to be the same with most items; online retailers can just afford to make less profit because of the much larger market they can reach. Even Wal-Mart cannot compete with it. Ebay.com...

Garmin Nuvi 650 Review

When I first got my Nuvi 650 in the mail and took it out of the packaging it looked so nice with the shiny 4.3″ screen and the map database features nearly six million points of interest (POIs), including hotels, restaurants, gas stations, ATMs, and...

Recertified: GARMIN nüvi 650 RFB 4.3" GPS Navigation

It is difficult to rate an item for which there are so many choices to be made in regards to type of usage and personal tech knowledge. There is a fairly steep learning curve on all of these units. I am particularly interested in coordinate usage, and...

2009 Updates for Free!!

With this unit selling for about the same price of the 200 series units it's a SPECTACULAR deal. I ended up paying /w the holiday sale nearly 100 less than my dads 200w at radio shack.

Big Screen, cheap. I was able to get the 2009 map updates for free($70 value) I just had to contact garmin, they had me email them my serial and proof of purchase and they gave me the updates! The Mounting bracket is pretty slick with the docking...

The way the antenna has to stick up is a little annoying, but I'm assuming this is one of the reasons it gets satellites quickly

Consumer review (newegg.com)

Great but with minor drawbacks

All in all, this is a great GPS and it's cheap!

Cheap with respect to function! This GPS does many of the essential functions very well. For instance ; 1) the satellite detection is very fast. I would say it usually takes less than 30 seconds to acquire a signal. Also, it can detect a signal (a...

The only drawback of this GPS is that it tells you to turn when you are pretty close to the intersection, so if you are going 65-70 mph you can easily miss the turn. However, if you have a sense of distance (which i am assuming many of us do), you...

Gets you where you're going

Though not perfect, it is as good as you can get for the price. I use a cheap FM transmitter plugged into the earphone plug to listen to MP3s. The volume isn't quite loud enough in my car to hear everything. Would have liked a built in FM transmitter...

Free map update from Garmin ; Millioins of POIs ; Canada Includes ( big plus for me!) ; Plays MP3s which pause when driving directions are given ; Easy to use interface ; Excellent price

Volume not quite loud enough ; When traveling a route only time of arrival is shown - it would have been nice to switch back to speed being displayed
