Garmin Rino 650

The Garmin Rino 650 GPS with two way radio updates older Rinos with a touch screen interface and triaxial compass, along with other goodies common to recent Garmin handhelds, including BirdsEye aerial imagery.

Before wrapping up, how about a few more screenshots? That's the altimeter screen, above at right. Below, left to right, we have the trip computer with the recreational dashboard option enabled, one of the main menu screens, and the compass screen with...

Great for camps with groups

For around 5 years I have used these to track and communicate with scouts on camp. One is used as a base station on my laptop to track the others. On numerous occasions we have found "lost" patrols. We use the free shonky maps for 1:250000 topo. We...

Purchased a set of these for our Outdoor Education groups. I have to agree with the 2 previous posts - the UHF performance is woeful. The operating range is poor, the sound from the speaker is unclear and adjusting power levels, volume etc on the go is...

Rhino 650 - A great combination

to be very useful in a number of applications, from emergency services use (I am a member of the NSW SES and this would be very useful in land search for instance), to use by hikers, runners, cyclists, etc who want to be able to communicate a position...

Combines functions of a GPS with a radio, one less item to carry!

Teething problems with the radio programming. Now fixed.
