Magellan Maestro review: Magellan Maestro

The Magellan Maestro 3100 has a simple and compact design, and it offers the navigation basics at an affordable price.

This Magellan GPS system froze on a couple of occasions, and route recalculations can sometimes be slow. It's also difficult to remove the device from the vehicle mount.

The Magellan Maestro 3100 is an affordable, simple, and basic portable navigation system for first-time buyers, but you can get better performance from other similar systems.

Magellan - Maestro 3100

Magellan has chosen a very cautious specification for its entry-level Maestro 3100. The 3.5-inch touch screen has a resolution of 320 x 240 pixels, GPS lock is handled by the ubiquitous SiRF Star III chip and ...

It's a horrible expression but Magellan ticks all the boxes with its Maestro 3100 and at first glance it supplies every feature you could possible need at an incredibly low price. Take a second look and you'll see that you actually get a fairly basic...
