Magellan Maestro 3100/3140 Full Review

The Magellan Maestro 3100 and 4100 series was introduced a while ago and in the meantime the Magellan 3200/4200 series has been introduced, bringing a fresh face and a few more features to make the line more enticing. A lot of readers have asked for a...

Magellan Maestro 3140 and 3100 Car GPS Navigation Devices Review

Magellan's Maestro 3000 Vehicle Navigation System models include the premium 3140 and entry level 3100. The primary difference between the 3000 and 4000 Magellan Maestros is the larger 4.3 inch touchscreen on the 4000's compared to the 3.4 inch screens...

Great Value

Excellent value for the money. Does everything that I need to to do. Have owned the 3140 for 6 months and have had no problems with it. Bought one for both of my daughters.

Accurate directions, bright display, speaks street names, easy to use

Nothing that I can think of

Nice for the money

Lot's of bang for the buck. One would be hard pressed to find something better at this price point.

Voice to text, reasonably accurate maps. Bluetooth if you need it

No predictive text for POI's. Also no way to enter GPS coordinates directly

MAGELLAN Maestro 3140 3.5" GPS Navigation

This thing is great. I almost want to take trips just so I can use it. So easy to use that my wife, who has a low understanding of technical things, can program a trip and use it to find her way to a new location and home again

Didn't come with an AC adapter. It would be great to keep it charged in the house, but charges while being used in the car. Found out that in order to do firmware upgrade I need an SD card

Great...once it gets up and running

No mp3 player. That might have been nice. But overall, for the price, I'd reccommend this unit.

The text to speech works great. I love the bluetooth capability. I have no problems with the voice or the volume - it works for me. Screen is clear and large enough for my needs. Touch screen works great. Simple and easy to use ; SUPER-fast shipping...

For some reason, the start-up/load time is very slow. If I don't drive my car for a day or two, it will take the unit 2-5 minutes to search for and find the satellites. If I go to the store for an hour or so, and then turn the unit back on again, it...

Not Bad

For the price you really can't go wrong. If you're a heavy traveler you might want to go with something a little higher-end. But if the idea of paying a couple bills to never have to look up directions again intrigues you, look no further!

Very easy to just pick up and use. Picks up satellites fast, and route calculations are on the order of about 5 seconds or so. Has text-to-speech, so it'll read off exit numbers and road names. Has bluetooth, so you can pair it with your phone and make...

Speaker sounds a little boxy ... you'll have to crank it if you have a loud car. And the text-to-speech isn't the best... road names can be indecipherable sometimes. It tried to get me to turn down a one-way street once, too, but that might be because...
