Magellan Maestro 3250 review

The Magellan Maestro 3250 is one of Magellan's new thinner (0.7") line of Maestros. Like the Maestro 3210, it has a 3.5" screen, six million points of interest (POIs), pre-loaded maps of the U.S. and Canada, and the SiRFstar III chipset.

Bad Magellan Support!

When working and after initial firmware update, it worked as advertised

Prior to first firmware update, it had some hangs and search issues ; Screen flickered and unit died, I couldn't reset it or connect it to charge or dock. I contacted Magellan and sent it to them (after faxing receipt copy and warranty). I mailed it to...

MAGELLAN Maestro 3250 3.5" GPS Navigation

Not all is loss, there is a new firmware update on Magellan website. The new version 4.6 resolves most of the issues. Just be aware that updating of firmware may fail, like I'd experienced. At the end, I sent mine in to the services center and they...

Clear accurate directions. plenty of warning about the approaching turn. Small, fit in my pocket. Good maps and easy to use. I like the Bluetooth connection with my cell phone, I find myself using it all the time. One thing though, you need to...

I have owned this thing for more than 6 months, like most other reviewers said, sometimes it is hard to start or restart. Other times it will lock up, when you switch of the engine for a few hours and you'll find it cannot restart next time when you...

Accurate device

This little system is amazing. It is so accurate. The options it offers are awesome. It's compact and is just an overall good piece.

There are a few of things I wish was different on this system is the night time mode. It's hard to see the street names. Also, the voice can be a little louder. The blue tooth voice is also not loud enough. People on the other end have told me they...

MAGELLAN Maestro 3250 3.5" GPS Navigation

It's a great device. The only thing I'm not happy with is that the blue tooth (voices) are not loud enough. My experience has been just as suggested. Turn off radio, A/C, and close the windows. Haven't been said, The person at the other end can never...

Great device. This device is pretty accurate. I love it!

Freezes up when trying to turn on.

Excellent Value for the price

Excellent GPS with Bluetooth. Even a Parrot Bluetooth will cost almost this much.

Fast, accurate, tons of POI (points of interest - resturant, store etc.) and most of all Bluetooth.

Freezes on startup once in a while.

MAGELLAN Maestro 3250 3.5" GPS Navigation

I had used a lower model magellan and was very happy with it; if you don't need all the extras then that would work well too, but this model is top notch. The traffic accessory not working is irritating, but the documentation for it is sketchy at best...

Excellent navigation, responsive and not an excessive amount of time to recalculate routes all things considered. Hands free phone access is nice for solo travelling and works fairly well. The points of interest information access is a lifesaver no...

Battery life leaves a little to be desired, but if you only use it in your car there are no problems. You have to zoom in farily close to get the visual cues for the points of interest to show up. I still can't get the traffic accessory to work.

Good Value for the Money

I travel for a living and I've probably used this unit for perhaps 75 hours in the last two months I've owned it. It has never locked up and maps are accurate. The only problem was in New York City with all the tall buildings - after driving out of the...

Have to pay for map update (there is currently one available).
