Magellan Maestro 4040

A large screen, fresh new user interface, AAA's TourBook functionality, and a great price make the Maestro 4040 a compelling in-car navigation device.

Large, 4.3 inch screen. New, improved user interface. AAA TourBook and roadside-assistance location. Powered by SiRFStar III receiver. Supports multisegment routing and is upgradable to live traffic and voice commands.

Bluetooth phone interface isn't as robust as on other GPS products. No auto-zoom or auto-volume ability.

A large screen, fresh new user interface, AAA's TourBook functionality, and a great price make the Maestro 4040 a compelling in-car navigation device.

A Review of the Magellan Maestro 4040

Prices have come down quite a bit and the GPS units have more features. Are they really worth it?

Magellan Maestro 4040 Review

PC Mag has a review up on the Magellan Maestro 4040, the new middle of the Series 4000 line of widescreen GPS navigation systems from Magellan. They redesigned the interface, which was very much needed, as the older units looked like they were a bit...

Magellan Maestro 4000, 4040, 4050 Review

CNet has a decent review of the new Magellan Maestro line, including the Maestro 4000, Maestro 4040, and the Maestro 4050 (kindof). They also include a brief cool video that walks you through the unit (links below). The line starts with a widescreen...

Magellan Maestro 4040 Review

Maestro is Magellan's latest GPS product line, and the company's first wide-screen GPS. This week I tested the Maestro 4040 model, putting the unit through GPSmagazine's usual rigorous testing criteria. How does Maestro compare to previous Magellan GPS...

The Magellan Maestro 4040 is part of Magellan's newest lineup — the Maestro series. Like all members of the Maestro family, the 4040 has a wide 4.3" screen, voice-prompted directions, AAA travel information and a SiRFstarIII chipset. The 4040 also has...

Magellan Maestro 4040 review

Magellan's Maestro 4040 is surprisingly cheap for a 4.2in widescreen satnav, but it includes plenty of features to keep users happy.

Magellan Maestro 4040 GPS satnav device

Switch on the Magellan Maestro 4040 GPS satnav device and you're immediately ready to roll.

If you want a GPS that's quick to locate a signal, gives you a better speaker for speakerphone conversations, and features a large, bright screen, the Magellan Maestro 4040 is a worthy option - as long as you don't mind spending £200. (You can find it...

Great GPS

I ended up muting the voice on my last trip because it kept reminding me to "stay on current route" every 10 miles on the freeway. Routes are pretty good for the most part, the 4 simple options (fastest time, shortest distance, mostly freeways, mostly...

Great little device. The voice is loud and clear. Bluetooth speakerphone is GREAT. The people i talk to can't tell the difference between the speakerphone and just using my phone. Menu is simple and responsive

Losing one egg because the maps somewhat outdated. So far i've only run into one area that is not in the map yet. Haven't bothered with the (paid) map updates. No mac compatible software for setting up POIs and Address Book
