Stubborn window mount, Mixed menu system, Soft voice levels, Small on-screen keyboard, Suburbs not filtered by state

Mio C510

A portable GPS device with excellent maps and handy features such as Bluetooth and MP3 playback.

Quick route calculation ; Very pretty maps ; Separate AC charger

Expensive ; Small inbuilt memory ; Mount can be difficult to remove

Entering your destination via the onscreen QWERTY keyboard is quick and can be done using your fingers instead of the stylus. Once data is inputted, the route calculation takes less then 10 seconds, which was very impressive. Recalculation for a missed...

Mio C510E Review

Miotechs C510E offers a portable design with maps of Western Europe. Its also features a wealth of extras that can give TomTom a run for its money.

The Mio C510E is really good device, more so now that its price has dropped to £168 - used to be £240 when it first came out. It may not have the instant access quality that TomTom possesses but it does nip at its heals.

This is my third GPS and for useability this is the dogs whatsits.

Good volume ; excellent phone handsfree through bluetooth ; nicely presented maps

Maps are quite outdated ; The power/interface connector would be better if it were right angled ; Often will not start up and needs a hard reset to boot which requires you to reconnect your phone otherwise the mio doestn't see the phone

Cannot use the MP3 player and map at the same time, its one or the other. (Not something I would want to do anyway.) ; Some software features are not obvious and you need to allow some time to learn the fine detail of how the system works ; Windscreen...
